Job Title: House Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Jon Description

  • The House Manager will generally be responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities which include but not limited to the maintenance, planning, supervision, overseeing any required repairs, preparing and managing the monthly and annual budgets and expenditure for the household
  • He will be involved in all aspects of the household’s operations and will, therefore, be responsible for the management of household’s employees, complaints, the family, and friends and all external vendors and servicemen.

Job Duties
The duty of the House Manager is to manage the household operations and activities and to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of all tasks. The key duties of the House Manager include but are not limited to:

  • The supervision of household staff at all levels - the stewards, cleaners, laundry man, security guards etc. to ensure that all the household’s activities are carried out efficiently.
  • The supervision of the work to be done by contractors, service people, artisans, and any other person who has a job to perform in the household to ensure that the best quality of work is done and there is an adherence to all household standards and expectations.
  • The assistance with internal household security by:
    • remaining vigilant
    • recognizing any vulnerabilities and bringing them to the attention of the employer.
  • The acceptance and accomplishment of special assignments and to suggest action plans (when requested) to accomplish the goals of the employer.
  • The preparation and management of budgets and expenses for the running of the household and to keep records of all household expenses and compare them to the approved budget.
  • The responsibility for weekly stock taking of all household supplies and equipment and to develop and maintain a secure storage room and to keep the inventory of all the household equipment and to ensure that nothing is removed without the employer’s knowledge.
  • The regular inspection of the facilities to determine all the required repairs and to keep an up-to-date record on utilities consumption to ensure that household does not run out of any basic amenity before its detected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a HND /B.Sc in Management Science
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience
  • Work experience as a hotel or facility manager is an added advantage
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible with work schedule; willingness to work after expected work hours.
  • Good knowledge of:
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical work
    • Carpentry
    • Painting
    • And other household appliance.

Salary
N200,000 - N300,000 Monthly.
