Job Title: Civil Engineer (Construction)

Location: Nigeria

Job Summary

The Engineer (Construction) will be responsible for ensuring successful project execution, aligning with design specifications, and managing subcontractors to meet quality and time goals.
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of industry standards, contract management, and regulatory frameworks, gained through a combination of office and site experience.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of subcontractors to ensure adherence to contract terms and project specifications.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop work schedules and assess project progress.
Identify potential project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and resolve issues promptly.
Ensure all project deliverables are met within scope, time, and budget constraints.
Liaise with external consultants, clients, and suppliers, maintaining professional relationships to enhance project outcomes.
Perform quality checks on project sites, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Prepare, review, and interpret technical drawings and project documentation.

Requirements

HND / B.Sc Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent certification.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a construction environment.
Must be a registered member of a relevant professional body (MNSE, MNICE, or equivalent).

Abilities and Skills Required:

Demonstrated strong work ethic and professionalism.
Proficiency in relevant design and engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is an added advantage.
Exceptional customer-facing and communication skills.
Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
