Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The HR Manager will lead HR initiatives to support business goals, drive workforce planning, and oversee talent management for the company’s operational and corporate functions.
  • The role involves developing and implementing HR policies and programs that align with the company’s objectives in the highly regulated Oil and Gas industry.
  • The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with industry standards, enhance employee engagement, and cultivate a culture of safety, excellence, and respect.

Responsibilities
Strategic HR Planning:

  • Partner with business leaders to develop HR strategies that support the company's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee workforce planning, including recruitment, succession planning, and retention strategies.
  • Analyze trends in HR metrics and propose initiatives for continuous improvement.

Talent Acquisition and Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate selection, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Develop talent management and career development programs to support employee growth and retention.
  • Facilitate talent reviews and implement succession planning for critical roles.

Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations, resolving conflicts and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific labor regulations, including safety standards and equal employment opportunity.
  • Conduct internal investigations as needed and work closely with legal teams to mitigate risks.

Compensation and Benefits Management:

  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness and alignment with industry standards.
  • Work with finance teams to manage payroll and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with benefits providers and negotiate terms when necessary.

HR Policies and Procedures:

  • Develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and handbooks to reflect the organization’s values and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate policies to employees and ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records, including personnel files, in accordance with legal standards.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and partner with the Learning and Development team to implement training programs that enhance technical skills, compliance, and safety.
  • Promote a safety culture by reinforcing the importance of compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) team to ensure HR policies support safety initiatives and incident prevention.
  • Support leadership development programs and evaluate their effectiveness in driving employee performance.
  • Safety and Compliance:

Performance Management:

  • Oversee the performance management process, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals.
  • Provide coaching to managers on handling performance issues and support continuous feedback practices.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certifications preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of labor laws and industry regulations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on employee relations and engagement.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Salary
N1,000,000 monthly.
