We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Pharmacist
Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Direct Line Manager: Pharmacy Supervisor
Job Type: Full Time
Objective 1
- Pharmacy management and monitoring the cold chain
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Maintain an organized and clean pharmacy in the warehouse: the drugs must be tidied, organized in a hygienic and clear way according to Action Against Hunger’s rules of classification of drug, allowing easy access to the information (type of drugs, expiry date).
- Organize weekly environmental cleaning in the pharmacy warehouse and environs
- Make arrangements for the proper disposal of expired drugs/material, a part from the rest of the supply
- Collaborate when necessary to the destruction of the expired drugs.
- Assist program team to amend the weekly/monthly request: control and monitor the quantity ordered
- Ensure that the drugs supplied to the different centres are appropriate and necessary.
- Ensure that appropriate storage of the drugs is occurring in the various centres
- Prepare the solutions and medical items requested by the medical units and deliver them in timely manner.
- Maintain an updated knowledge of best global practices
- Monitor twice a day humidity of the warehouse and temperature of all refrigerators containing medications or any cold chain products and record it on the follow up sheet. And in all the rooms under controlled temperature.
- Report immediately any deviation from the expected temperature and humidity ranges to the pharmacy supervisor, enquire the reasons of the dysfunctions and propose possible solutions.
- Ensure that all medical supply is adequate:
- Follow expiry dates of all pharmacy items and report items which need to be replaced and necessary follow up to ensure that items are replaced in a timely manner
Objective 2
- Monitoring orders and supply
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Support the Pharmacy Supervisor to;
- Ensure the reception of local / international orders:
- Check that the number of box and their content match with the packing list and waybill.
- Inform the program team of all problem or item missing in the reception of the order.
- Ensure the quality (cold chain, packing, etc.) of the transport of medical items from the warehouse to HF
- Regularly update the SFU based on SRO and incoming items.
- Arrange in order the medical items as regards to their specificity and expiring date.
- Record all entry of items on stock cards with the order number and expiring dates
- Record the items either in terms of unit or box, according to Action Against Hunger’s specifications, in order to facilitate the process of orders.
Objective 3
- Stock inventory and consumption reporting
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Record any medical item entry and exit in stock cards and SFU on a regular basis.
- Do the weekly/monthly drugs inventory in collaboration with the pharmacy supervisor.
- Report discrepancies and general consumption issues to the pharmacy supervisor.
- Work with program team to amend drug request and stock quotas on a regular basis to prevent exceptional ordering.

Internal:
- Pharmacy Supervisor: Line manager, exchange of information, coordination
- Warehouse manager/logistics manager: exchange of information, coordination
- NUT-H coordination team: – technical support, exchange of information,
- NUT-H program team: Exchange of information, coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or possess a Pharmacy Technician Diploma
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Pharmacist
- Strong work ethic: punctuality, responsibility and flexibility
- Strong sense of organization and attention to details
- Capacity to work in a team
- Experience in stock pharmacy management
- Fluency in spoken and written English language. Hausa language is desirable
- Computer skills (Microsoft office)
Preferred:
- Previous experience with Action Against Hunger
Minimum Monthly Basic Salary
NGN 156,995
