The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

Job Title: Foreign Service National Investigator

Job Summary

  • The U.S. Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) position in the Regional Security Office.

Responsibilities

  • Working in the Regional Security Office (RSO), the Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) conducts security investigations and maintains liaison with local police and other security and law enforcement officials.
  • The FSNI assists the RSO team in coordinating protection for post personnel and visiting U.S. government officials, obtaining and reporting on information concerning potential security threats to post personnel, facilities, or information.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years university studies is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, military, private security, or investigation is required.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

  • All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust Security Clearance. 
  • All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam. Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Salary
USD 24,860 / Year
