The Job
  • You will be supported by our Global Business Development team, who has a strong network in the region.
  • You will act as the first point of contact in Nigeria for the Royal HaskoningDHV Group, supporting other business lines executing their projects.
  • In your role as Office manager you will report to the Associate Director for I&B Nigeria/Africa in Netherlands.
  • As Office manager you are responsible for managing the overall performance of HaskoningDHV Nigeria Limited and to drive the company growth in terms of market position, size, financial performance and operations.
  • Special attention is given to business development and staff growth aspects of the Nigerian office in the (West) African context.
Your Responsibilities
  • Coaching of our local staff and maintain our company procedures for quality management and project delivery.
  • Oversee Security and Safety situation; implement, monitor and update pertaining protocols if/when required.
  • Assure full compliance at all times.
  • Be responsible for our entity in Nigeria/ West Africa.
  • Be the active representative for Royal HaskoningDHV and senior local point of contact for clients, officials, staff and other Royal HaskoningDHV overseas offices.
  • Maintain and develop our position in the business environment in Nigeria, as a thought leader and respected representative of RHDHV and the international business community.
  • Manage our projects portfolio with our local team and clients. Act as a project manager for the larger projects and add know-how where appropriate.
  • Manage all local staff and operations, intra-company working, and financial performance for the Nigerian office.

  • Entrepreneur with strong business acumen and sound understanding of business financials with clear market drive, focus on clients and client network who recognizes profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities.
Your Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Qualified professional (e.g. Manufacturing/Construction industry background, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural) with extensive African work experience and on international projects.
  • Experienced project manager in an industrial environment, preferably manufacturing (consumer goods) or related sector.
  • Proven track record / experience in managing and growing part of a business and/or international multi-disciplinary project teams and holding line-, profit & loss-, commercial- and contract- responsibilities.
  • Proper decision-making skills and able to operate both in the African business environment as well as in a South African / Western Europe business environment.
  • Full understanding of international standards of service and commitment to excellence in terms of quality, program and client accountability.
  • Proficient English language skills both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of the West-African business and working culture and a track record in the region is desirable.
  • Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written; preferably also in French.
