Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Job Description
- The Business Development Manager of operations in Didactic, will have full responsibility for all business, sales, human resource, administration and other strategic activities.
- Drive core planning, strategy and implementation required to maintain existing and grow new business fields, and to develop new product/service offerings, thereby developing the department into the country’s recognized leading academy of its kind.
Key Accountabilities
- Establish, plan, implement and achieve agreed business and strategic objectives.
- Build customer networks at high level, including industry managers and executives, governmental departments, industrial and educational authorities, and educational institutions.
- Define and implement sales structures, sales channels and activities to achieve the defined targets.
- To discuss investment needs and financing possibilities with customers
- To negotiate contracts / prices / large public tenders with Key Accounts (big contracts together with GM & HQ/external trainers
- To visit customers, to establish partnerships and develop strategic alliances with educational institutions and other industry markets in order to promote Didactic business
- To manage, lead, coach, evaluate and support own staff.
- Expand training delivery and Festo training centres.
- Actively promote and support continuous improvement of total quality. Ensure that correct processes are followed according to the quality system and administration requirements.
- Work with other managers locally and internationally:
- In developing methods and sharing knowledge to achieve improvements in operational and strategic effectiveness and efficiencies, and
- In developing new products/services.
- To define and implement the local sales and marketing strategy within the frame of the Corporate Didactic Strategy.
- Set goals to ensure that sales quotas are met and all business team members are performing adequately.
- To plan, manage and control sales and marketing activities to supply the education and industry market with: - Industrial automation learning systems (products)
- To prepare and control the operating budget to ensure effective implementation of the business.
- To determine the product pricing in the country based on the corporate pricing guidelines.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Tertiary Technical or Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechatronics. Having an MBA is preferable, if not, applicants must be currently running their MBA program.
- A tertiary business or commercial qualification may be an advantage
- Minimum of 10 years industrial experience with 4 years in a management position
- Languages: English (fluent); French an advantage
Experience
Essential:
- Experience in the education and/or training field, including giving trainings.
Advantageous and/or Preferable:
- Plus, commercial/business experience in a management role is preferable
- Plus, sales/marketing exposure an advantage
