Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation Nigeria (MGIC) is a non-profit affiliate of UMB with a mission to administratively support international operations of UMB Principal Investigators. Our purpose is to provide the administrative infrastructure for sizable and sustained operations outside of the U.S. We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:     Job Title: Zonal Community Mobilizer/Mobilization Officer Location: Nationwide (Each of the Geopolitical zones (works in and coordinates assigned Geopolitical zones)) Duration of Assignment: One year (with possibility of extension Slot: 6 Responsibilities

  • Coordinates conduct of community mobilization related data collection in one of the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria
  • Attends Enumeration Area entry meeting with SBMs
  • Coordinates Enumeration Area entry with SBMs
  • Works with Survey Zonal Coordinator and SBM to schedule community/household mobilization activities and survey
  • Monitors community perceptions about the survey and survey team
  • Participates in advocacy visits in each zone
  • Participates in communication, mobilization and engagement activities in each zone
  • Perform quality and validation checks on the activities of the State Based and community mobilizers
  • Attends EA departure meeting with SBMs
  • Reports to Community Mobilization Zonal Coordinator
Qualifications and Experience
  • B.Sc/B.A or its equivalent in Mass Communication, Social Marketing, Public Health, Health Education or a relevant field
  • A demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English with a good understanding and ability to communicate in at least one indigenous Nigerian language
  • Understanding more than 2 Nigerian languages in the preferred zone will be an added advantage
  • An advanced Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage
  • Experience with the terrain, culture and structure in the states within assigned geopolitical zones.
  • Must be someone well respected and known with good character
  • Must have at least 8 years working experience in Public Health Service demand creation within the locality or/and experience conducting communication and mobilization activities
  • Must have a good track record of active liaison with Community Based Organizations, Traditional and Religious institution in dealing with complex issues and multi-facet activities in the community
  • Prior successful experience performing Community Mobilization role in a HIV/AIDS or Health Related Survey is highly desirable
  • Presence/living in the geopolitical zone will be an added advantage

  • Leads and conduct community mobilization and communication within the assigned state
  • Conduct community mobilization and communication within the selected state EAs
  • Attends community-level stakeholders meeting with Zonal Coordinator and Zonal mobilization officers
  • Identifies, trains and supervises identified Community Mobilizers (CMs)
  • Participates in advocacy visits in each state
  • Participates in communication, mobilization and engagement activities in each state
  • Coordinates EA entry and departure meetings
  • Works with Zonal Mobilizers, Field Team Leads and CMs to schedule household surveys and data collection
  • Monitors community perceptions with Zonal Mobilizers and CMs
  • Support the linkage to care for identified positive respondents not in care
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues within the state
  • Communicates with Zonal Coordinator, Zonal mobilizers and CMs
  • Reports to Zonal Mobilizers.
Qualifications and Experience

  • To provide technical and programmatic support to NPHIIA Project in health supply chain management at satellite laboratories in selected health facilities.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure best practices in storage and inventory management of health commodities at satellite laboratories in selected health facilitiesDistribute RTKs and other health commodities to field and laboratory teams based on distribution schedule or as directed Zonal Health Supply Chain Specialist
  • Ensure timely receipt and review of utilization of consumption reports from the field
  • Update and manage a logistic management system for all health commodities at the facility level
  • Provide feedback to field staff at the SDPs assigned on LMIS reports
  • Prepare accurate commodity requirements/delivery order for commodities and ensure an uninterrupted supply of commodities for program needs
  • Ensure supply chain activities in SDPs are aligned with the government of Nigeria standard operating procedure
  • Contribute to the identification and documentation of best practices and success stories on the NPHIIA project
  • Support laboratory specialists at assigned health facilities in documentation of commodity utilization and other logistics related issues
  • Any other task as assigned.
Key Area of Responsibility
  • The incumbent would be a great team player with high tenacity to deliver in a timely and efficient manner working across various multi-disciplinary teams.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
  • Minimum of a first degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy (BPharm) or a related degree
  • Certificate in Logistics Management of Health Commodities
Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in supply chain management working on a donor funded public health program e.g. HIV, Malaria, etc.
