Job Title: Senior Finance Officer

Specific Objectives
- Implement financial procedures in line with organizational requirements
- Recording and reconciliation of project accounts and income recognition.
- Timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in line with organizational and donor requirements and deadlines.
- Preparation of accurate and timely information for budget monitoring and progress reporting of program funds and grants.
- Assist and manage field office financial systems
- Management and reconciliation of the bank and cash accounts, preparation of the weekly petty cash counts and monthly financial records including cashbooks, ensuring financial and resource accountability and effective management for records as required for auditing.
- Collection and filing of regular financial reports and budget records.
- Take the lead in monitoring expenditure, preparing accurate and timely monthly FFR reports and financial statements
- Oversee maintenance of the project's finance filing system
- Implement accounting and financial policies to ensure financial integrity of programs
- Collaborate with the Deputy Director, Finance to monitor subcontracts budget compliances
- Monitoring of the petty cash and bank balances to ensure sufficient funds are always available depending on the program needs.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or its equivalent. CPA. ACA, ICAN or recognized equivalent is a requirement.
- At least six years’ experience and professional qualification experience in budgeting, financial management and Finance, preferably with at least 3 years of NGO experience in a similar position in a CDC/USAID funded project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulate results and recommendations of analysis to a variety of audiences within the organization (for example, laterally across peers, upwards to senior management).
- Experience with word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel).
- Strong sense of natural curiosity to study a problem and identify root causes, make logical connections/conclusions from scattered data.
- Excellent experience with financial systems and Tally 9 ERP software.
- Working knowledge of GAAPS. USG rules and regulation including HSS grant policy, 45 CFR 75, A122 other donor regulations with strong financial accounting, modeling and analytic skills to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis of information to management.
- High level of attention to details in all aspects of work responsibilities and Independent judgment and discretion in completing assignments.

Specific Objectives
- Manage the successful execution of knowledge sharing events including periodic seminars/webinars, workshops, conferences, and peer learning sessions. S/he will ensure that relevant project experiences (including success stories), outputs and lessons learned are captured, documented and disseminated, in line with best practices.
- Support development of training material, job aids and IEC Materials for project
- Work collaboratively with program staff to identify, and prioritize types of knowledge to develop and capture
- Maintain processes to ensure knowledge management efforts inform decision during project implementation
- Support documentation of lessons learnt, best practices and proven innovations in program design, implementation, monitoring and reporting to improve program design and implementation strategy
- Provide support to program staff to develop presentations and other media to highlight our work to stakeholders and meet project requirements
- Work with the project team to develop and publish research papers and other scientific publication.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Health Communication, Public Health or relevant field. A Master’s degree would be an advantage.
- Experience in RMNCH programs/projects and knowledge of the RMNCH Landscape in Nigeria would be an advantage
- At least 5 years’ experience in a training or program management role in a similar setting
- Familiarity with principles of Implementation research, organizational learning and development, and their link to social change. Demonstrated understanding of knowledge management principles and capacity to deliver knowledge management and/or organizational learning activities.
- Ability to translate technical information into practical guidance and tools and effectively communicate these using print, electronic and presentation media.
- Sensitivity to cultures and social systems, and genuine interest in capacity building responses to development issues.
- Fluency in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Co -Authorship of conference papers or published research would be an advantage.
