Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. PUI is implementing humanitarian activities in Nigeria since April 2016, supporting population with food security, nutrition and health project in Maiduguri and Borno State. PUI is now looking for Logistics Officer. We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Logistics Officer Location: Maiduguri, Borno Under the Direct Supervision of: Logistics Manager Supervision of: Drivers, Guards, Logistics Assistant General Objective

  • Ensure the maintenance, security and follow up of PUI equipment, goods and premises
Responsibilities and Tasks Equipment:
  • Responsible for recording all PUI equipment in the Equipment follow-up sheet on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for Ensuring all equipment are maintained according to the planning and PUI procedures
  • Responsible for the loading and unloading of goods/materials
  • Inform the Logistics Manager in the event of equipment purchase
IT/Communication:
  • Control all mobile phones, Thuraya and docking station are operational
  • Check on a monthly basis the Thuraya credit follow up sheet
  • Control all mobile phones and Thuraya have contact phone numbers updated on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for sending the pre paid follow up sheet to all head of department
  • Maintain all laptops operational
  • Ensure all internet modem are operational and charged
  • Control all warehouse handsets are operational
Security:
  • Ensure security briefings to all new staff (movements, communication,..)
  • Ensure the security of the staff
  • Responsible for receiving messages and keeping tracks of all vehicles movements
  • Update the contact list on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for the presence of the contact list and road maps at all FDU docking stations locations
  • Ensure the presence of the Fire emergency phone number at safe rooms, guards rooms and warehouse office
  • Assist the Logistics manager in the daily basis security management
Maintenance:
  • Contact the company for the generator maintenance and supervise the maintenance
  • Communicate to the Logistics Manager for major repairs (roof, buildings, generator, laptops, Thuraya…)
  • Responsible for the minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing,,…)
  • Supervise the Logistics assistant in minor repairs
  • Supervise the Logistics assistant in cleaning PUI areas and premises maintenance
Procurement:
  • Make all purchase requests and purchase orders for maintenance, vehicle rental, security guards rental company on a monthly basis
Management:
  • Manage the logistics assistant, drivers and guards work
  • Organize weekly meetings with Logistics assistant, drivers and guards
  • Plan with the Procurement officer the logistics activities on a weekly basis
  • Ensure logistics briefings to all new staff
  • Makes recommendations to improve unit efficiency to Logistics Manager
  • Communicate with the vehicle rental company for the requested vehicles on a weekly basis
  • Communicate with the Logistics manager for planning activities
Reporting:
  • Report on a monthly basis all logistics activities (maintenance, meetings, updates, issues, recommendations,…)
  • Update and report to the Logistics Manager on a monthly basis the Fuel and Vehicles rental follow-up sheet, the Thuraya credit follow-up sheet, the Equipment follow-up sheet, the Maintenance follow-up sheet
Mandatory Requirements
  • Education Degree: Secondary Education
  • Work experience: One year experience in a similar position
  • Previous experience within an INGO is compulsory
  • Language skills: Fluent in English and Hausa
