We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Planning and Supply Chain Manager Location: Osun Key Purpose of the Job

  • The main goal of this position is to manage the entire order cycle and supply chain so as to enhance NMT business development, sustainability and customer satisfaction.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, scheduling and execution of NMT jobs and also, organize logistics in terms of local and international shipment to ensure all finished products/goods get to the customer within a scheduled and agreed time frame.
  • In addition to this, he/she will be required to ensure all products/goods to be delivered to the customer meet the customer’s specification, international standard with right pricing.
Summary of Key Responsibilities Planning and Scheduling:
  • Oversea production planning, scheduling and execution for manufacturing of WIP and finished goods.
  • Responsible for integrating production schedules with business planning and forecasting.
  • Ensure all products/goods meet the customer’s specification, international standards and same delivered to the customer within a scheduled or agreed planning time frame.
  • Work with sales and marketing and production department on new jobs and product development.
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials requirement to cover jobs /production demands.
Cost Estimating:
  • Read technical drawings or technical documents in order to manage production and distribution cost forecasted for all products, RFQ and tenders.
  • Accurate prediction of relevant costs and time line for delivery of products to clients/customers.
  • Regular update of costs on Microsoft Navision and ensure all costing templates are captured.
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports to guide management in decision making.
  • Maintain regular check on price variances on jobs and carry out investigation to eliminate same.
  • Carry out detail analyses of production cost (raw material, machine hour, man hour and yield) and monitor same to ensure all costs or expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
  • Check all finished products or work in progress to determine actual production cost and report any detected variance to the management for appropriate decision.
Supply Chain and Logistics:
  • Manage the whole logistics and supply chain cycle to ensure all scheduled or agreed delivery lead time for customer’s order/jobs are adhered to.
  • Ensure delivery of right quality and quantity finished products/goods to the customer at all times.
  • Ensure all raw materials or third party products/goods cleared by our clearing agents are promptly checked and delivered to factory within a reasonable time.
  • Monitor federal, state and local government regulations with respect to transportation in order to protect NMT from any harassment or arrest.
  • Develop in/outbound logistics contingency plans to deal with supply chain uncertainties
  • Ensure cost advantage to NMT in all negotiations with transporters or any delivery agents in collaboration with Procurement manager.
Educational/Professional Qualifications
  • Minimum of HND/B.SC in Social Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • MBA or any other professional qualification in relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
  • CIPSMN or equivalent ( Chattered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management of Nigeria)
  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in planning, costing and supply chain in an Engineering industry or an FCMG organization.
Technical Skills and Personal Qualities:
  • Good production planning, forecasting and third party logistics management background
  • Ability to read Engineering drawings or designs with sound experience in shop floor activities.
  • Sound experience in tender processes and presentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with personal initiative, prioritize work, handle pressure and take day-to- day decisions on the running of the company’s supply chain management.
  • Time management and ability to exercise independent judgment and problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work long and unpredictable hours to meet deadline or target.
  • Good computer skill with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with bias to MS Project, PowerPoint, Microsoft Dynamic NAV and other engineering software programs e t c
  • Sound production planning skills with In-depth knowledge on time estimation for engineering related products or projects.
  • In-depth knowledge on product costing methodology in an engineering industry or manufacturing.
  • Ability to consult, negotiate and influence a wide range of team members.
