Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Kano

Job Description

  • The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting production machinery in a safe and efficient manner. The role involves setting up machines according to specifications, monitoring machine performance, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities
Machine Operation:

  • Operate various types of production machinery including but not limited to Blowing machines, Injection machines, filling line, packaging machine, liner insertion machines and any other machinery & equipment.
  • Set up machines according to production specifications and company standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machinery to maintain product quality.
  • Report any defects or quality issues to the supervisor.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions, making minor repairs as necessary.
  • Escalate complex issues to maintenance or technical support.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate production records, including, good count, total count, cycle time, quality control metric, and downtime records.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and issues.

Clean, Inspect, and Lubricate Routine:

  • Perform regular cleaning of machines to remove debris, dust, and contaminants.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, adhering to 5S principles.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery components to identify signs of wear, damage, or misalignment.
  • Use clean, inspect, and lubricate checklist
  • Dispose of waste materials properly and maintain a clutter-free environment.
  • Apply lubricants to machine components as specified by the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule.
