Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support project management through effective cost control, accurate measurements, and efficient financial planning.
  • The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our projects, from initial estimates to project completion, ensuring projects stay within budget while meeting quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
  • Manage project finances by monitoring and controlling expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare detailed financial reports.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Maintain awareness of the latest construction technologies, materials, and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and update senior management on project financials.
  • Recommend cost-effective solutions and advise on cost control measures.
  • Liaise with project managers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to discuss project requirements and budgets.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and review contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, ensuring cost and quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, AIQS) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and project management software).
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
