Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer at Diamond Development Initiatives


Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI) is a Nigerian-registered non-profit organization that complements the role of development agencies, donors, and other funding organizations by providing technical assistance in the planning and implementation of various development Initiatives. Established in 2002, DDI anexes a multi-sectoral ecosystem of government, business and social services, layering development, own and strengthening of small and medium stale grassroots businesses and Start-ups - particularly in agriculture, agro-based businesses, off-grid energy solutions, youth-led entrepreneurship development, and economic empowerment - by providing sustainable technical support in the planning, implementation, financial and programmatic management.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer

Location: Yola, Adamawa

Background

  • Diamond Development Initiatives invites applications for nine positions in order to implement is component of the USAID Rural Resilience Activity The Activity.
  • Diamond Development Initiatives will deploy a market-driven model that will address the constraints of weak institutions, rising cost and limited availability of Agri-inputs outreach to customers and out-growers, embedded services available to smallholders as well as limited and uncompetitive value addition and processing.
  • Working closely with public civil societies, and economic actors, the activity seeks to trade and support inclusive and resilient growth through agricultural competitiveness.
  • The Activity seeks to increase smallholder household Incomes and reduce poverty in North Ester Nigeria through their improved participation in Inclusive agribusiness value chains and market opportunities.
  • The overall objective is to offer opportunities that will yield partnerships to at least 50,000 smallholder farmers in Boma, Adamawa, Yobe and Gombe States to increase their incomes and reduce poverty in Northeastern Nigeria through their improved participation in incisive agribusiness value chains and market opportunities.
  • The Activity seeks to improve the resilience capacities of conflict-affected households, communities, and market systems using market-led approaches layered with complementary investments in humanitarian assistance in order to contribute to economic recovery and growth.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Agric Economics, Extension, Statistics or related fields
  • A least 3 years of direct involvement in providing monitoring and evaluation
  • Support for related programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and a high proficiency in the use of a computer, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft
  • Word, etc.
  • Ability to speak Hausa and/or Kanuri will be an added advantage.
