We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Blanket Supplementary Feeding Program Officer Location: Yobe Job Description

  • The BSFP (Blanket Supplementary Feeding Program) Officers will be responsible for planning and distribution of WFP funded BSFP in Geidam focusing on IDPs and vulnerable host communities.
  • They will ensure comprehensive mobilisation of the community for nutrition screening of children under five and beneficiary training on IYCF.
Main Duties / Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Officer and in collaboration with the Project Manager and other collaborators of the projects and of the Base, they will be:
  • In charge of sensitization, providing key messages related to the programme objectives, organization of distributions, the use of the products and other messages related to IYCF.
  • Leading screening of the nutritional status of children under five in their designated locations and refer SAM cases to health/CMAM centres.
  • Supervise a team of Distribution Assistants and collaborate with community mobilisers in implementing follow-up of referred SAM cases.
  • Supervise the distribution of supplementary food to children under 5 years and PLW (pregnant and lactating women).
  • Organise the distribution points to ensure safety and protection of beneficiaries.
  • Oversee food stocks and prepare daily and monthly distribution reports.
  • Liaise with community leaders and local authorities to ensure support during distribution.
  • Supervise the complaint and feedback mechanism.
  • Organise collection and tracking of weekly data at community level, including the results of MUAC screening during house-to-house visits
  • Submit weekly/daily nutrition, health and distribution reports to the Nutrition Officer for onward sharing with the Project Manager
  • Provide training on nutrition (IYCF) and hygiene practices.
  • Follow referrals of all severely malnourished children to the stabilization center
  • Report any problems in a timely manner to the Nutrition Officer or the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
  • Participate in the field work of the nutrition survey (impact assessment)

    Job Title: GFD Distribution Assistant Location: Yobe Job Description
  • The Distribution Assistants will be responsible for the implementation of WFP funded General Food Distribution in Geidam focusing on IDPs and vulnerable host communities.
  • They will ensure distribution, monitoring and mobilisation of the community to encourage their participation in the distribution activities.
Main Duties / Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Field Officer and in collaboration with the Project Manager and other collaborators of the projects and of the Base, they will:
  • Conduct sensitizations, providing key messages related to the programme objectives, organization of distributions, targeting and eligibility criteria.
  • Supervising the Community Mobilisers and volunteers in support of the distribution process and in charge of crowd control.
  • Conduct registration of beneficiaries as needed and verification of beneficiaries at distribution point.
  • Support the Field Officer with organizing the distribution point to respond to protection and accountability to affected populations criteria.
  • Conduct distribution of in-kind food assistance to the entitled beneficiaries.
  • Support the Field Officer with commodity tracking and reporting.
  • Collect complaints and feedback from the beneficiaries and the communities.
  • Report any problems in a timely manner to the Field Officers or the Project Manager.
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities as required.

  • The Field officer will be responsible for the implementation of WFP funded General Food Distribution in Geidam focusing on IDPs and vulnerable host communities.
  • They will ensure distribution, monitoring and mobilisation of the community to encourage their participation in the distribution activities.
Main Duties / Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator and in collaboration with the Project Manager and other collaborators of the projects and of the Base, they will:
  • Conduct sensitizations, providing key messages related to the programme objectives, organization of distributions, targeting and eligibility criteria.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and community leaders to support the registration, verification and distribution process.
  • Supervise the Distribution Assistants and volunteers in support of the distribution process and in charge of crowd control.
  • Coordinate the registration of beneficiaries as needed.
  • Be in charge of the organization of the distribution points, ensuring that they respond to protection criteria.
  • Be in charge of stock management and reporting, by sending daily distribution reports and monthly distribution reports to the Field Coordinator.
  • Ensure that verification, crowd control, stock management and reporting are conducted with transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure that the complaints and feedback functions and that beneficiaries are informed about their right to file complaints.
  • Report any problems in a timely manner to the Field Officers or the Project Manager.
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities as required.
