Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Borno
The Role
- The Project Manager will be based in Maiduguri and work under the supervision of the Deputy Team Leader (DTL) - Programme Operations to provide technical guidance, manage the project team, ensure monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning, and quality implementation of the OFDA project.
- He/she will also lead on effective financial and operational management of the project.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- MA / MSc level (or equivalent field experience) in Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies and other relevant qualifications
- Extensive experience of working within a senior management role within a complex country programme in an emergency response or fragile state
- Previous experience of managing programme teams in large-scale first phase emergency response is essential
- Experience of M&E and beneficiary accountability systems in large complex programmes
- Experience of developing and negotiating successful partnerships with institutional donors
- Proven ability to influence change at an operational and strategic level
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
- A high level of written and spoken English
- The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
- Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
Desirable:
- At least 5 years of humanitarian experience
- Previous experience working in NE Nigeria

Job Title: Project Coordinator-Nigerian Joint Response Phase 4 (PC_NJR4)
Location: Nigeria
The Role
- The Consortium Coordinator would work under the supervision of SC’s Humanitarian Director and in collaboration with SC Netherlands and relevant colleagues in partner NJR INGOs, to provide oversight, ensure complementarity, collaborative impact and reduced duplication, manage joint and collaborative activities, ensure monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning, and quality implementation of the program.
- S/he will also lead on effective financial and operational management of the coordination work plan and budget.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Extensive experience working (including in a management role) in complex country programs in an emergency response or fragile state
- Previous experience of managing teams in large-scale emergency response
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Education: MA / MSc level (or equivalent field experience) in the applied and aid-related sciences
- Experience with M&E, and implementing learning and beneficiary accountability in a large complex program as well as reporting on grants from institutional donors
- Experience of negotiating, developing and implementing successful partnerships with multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to influence change at an operational and strategic levels
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
- A high level of written and spoken English
- The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.

Job Description
- The role The Project Manager-Nigerian Joint Response 4 will be based in Maiduguri and work under the supervision of the Deputy Team Leader (DTL) - Programme Operations and in collaboration with the Nigeria Joint Response (NJR) Consortium Coordinator, to provide technical guidance, manage the project team, ensure monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning, and quality implementation of the project.
- He/she will also lead on effective financial and operational management of the project.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Extensive experience working (including in a management role) in a complex country programs in an emergency response or fragile state
- Previous experience of managing program teams in large-scale first phase emergency response is essential
- Experience managing, monitoring and reporting on grants from institutional donors
Education:
- M.A / M.Sc level (or equivalent field experience) in the Applied Sciences including in the domain of Economics, Agriculture, Nutrition, Development Studies and any other related domain
- Experience with M&E, and implementing learning and beneficiary accountability in a large complex program
- Experience of negotiating, developing and implementing successful partnerships with multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to influence change at operational and strategic levels
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
- A high level of written and spoken English
