They are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Head, Human Resources Reference Number: 130-PEO00991 Location: Lagos Department: People & Change Nigeria Job type: Permanent Roles & Responsibilities This role reports to the MD/ CEO. The role holder would be responsible for: HR Strategy Formulation and Budgeting:

  • Formulating and implementing a HR Strategy that will promote the achievement of the company’s business strategic objectives
  • Drawing up annual the budget for all HR programmes in line with the business’s strategy
  • Developing and implementing effective HR procedures and policies in all areas to reflect business aims. This includes policies relating to Recruitment and Selection, Compensation, Performance
  • Management, Training and Development, Employee Welfare, Succession Planning, Retention, Labour Relations, etc.
  • Implementing all HR initiatives in line with company’s strategic and business objectives
  • Supporting corporate strategy formulation by identifying key HR issues; Contributes information, analysis, and recommendations to guide strategic thinking and direction within the business
  • Supporting the corporate decision making process by working closely with business leaders to provide HR advice, counsel and relevant information
  • Coordinating Change initiatives and ensuring that employees are carried along so as to get their buy-in/support
  • Reviewing and updating the organisational design process and succession planning framework of the company in line with it’s corporate strategy
Talent Management:
  • Coordinating all Talent Management activities and processes within the company. This includes Talent Acquisition, Orientation, Training and Development, Performance Management, etc.
  • Overseeing the development of an effective manpower planning process in alignment with the company’s corporate strategy
  • Implementing the company’s Organisation structure to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Developing a strategic recruitment practice to ensure the talent needs of the organisation is met in the short and long run
  • Overseeing the on-boarding and integration/induction process of new employees
  • Designing and implementing employee retention programmes in order to lower turnover rate and maintain optimal headcount as per manpower plan
  • Providing strategic direction for the development of the company’s employee value proposition and employer brand
  • Developing and implementing the Learning and Development Strategy of the Organisation in line with business objectives
  • Developing metrics to measure the return on training initiatives
  • Driving the deployment of annual Employee Engagement Survey, and developing action plans from responses to improve overall employee engagement and business performance
  • Designing and implementing leadership framework and Management development programmes to ensure future leadership pipeline for the company
  • Overseeing and monitoring employee performance management system and cycle, and maintains a high performance culture within the company
Requirements Qualification:
  • Minimum of first degree in Social sciences, Humanities, Business Administration or any relevant discipline is required
  • Professional certification in Human resources from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Nigeria or its overseas equivalent (e.g. HR Certification Institute (HRCI), Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD)
  • MBA or Masters’ degree in a related discipline is an added advantage
Experience:
  • At least 12 years of progressive experience in Human Resources across the financial service industry with 5 years in Management function
  • Strong track-record in HR Strategy development and implementation

  • Oversee the preparation of regular cash flow forecasts while managing the revolving credit facilities.
  • Ensure all debt & covenant reporting requirements are met and manage all documentation required to refinance the various elements of the debt structure.
  • Monitor and report on cash surpluses and deficits and engage executive management for effective decision making
  • Manage and maintain proper controls over treasury account, bank accounts, banking processes and other treasury systems to allow easy disbursement, reconciliation and replenishment.
  • Analyse funding needs to ensure that adequate funds are available to meet daily operational expenses and emergencies.
  • Manage liquidity and ensure that yields on financial assets are maximized.
  • Facilitate and maintain relevant relationships with financial service providers such as banks, payment service providers, lenders and investors.
  • Forecast cash payments and withdrawals and anticipate challenges arising from cash concentration or limited cash flow.
  • Review bank statements daily to ascertain correctness of charges, commissions and posted transactions.
  • Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities.
  • Follow up with banks to resolve any issues experienced in accessing banking facilities or executing banking transactions.
Investment:
  • Drive the proactive tracking of portfolio returns and recommend optimal investment policies that capture the best interest rates while managing risk.
  • Advise Executive Management on investment strategies that will ensure high returns on investment and optimal liquidity for operations.
  • Provide inputs into defining the business’ investment risk appetite
  • Review the status of all foreign exchange deals and Investment Funds.
  • Coordinate the review, analysis and reporting of the institution’s investment portfolio, yield and instruments
Risk and Control:
  • Advises Top management on risk related issues that can impact the strategic direction of the business.
  • Use hedging to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company’s borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positions.
  • Oversee bank account management and payments transactions to ensure compliance with the appropriate procedures and approval authority.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Work with the Group CFO to develop and document the appropriate investment policies, objectives, asset allocation guidelines and appropriate investment strategies.
  • Review all investment proposals with the Group CEO
  • Advise management and provides input on the funding, debt and cash-flow implications of the corporate strategy, goals, plans and projects
  • Assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts
  • Provide the Group CFO with an operating budget.
  • Work with management to ensure success through cost analysis support and compliance with all requirements
People Management:
  • Provide strong leadership and ensure clear strategic objectives are in place.
  • Manage the day to day performance, learning and development of the team, including one - on - one feedback sessions and conducting performance appraisals
  • Support the implementation and facilitation of relevant workshops and training courses
  • Promote a strong team culture
Requirements
  • A first degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline from a reputable institution
  • Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent is required.
  • MBA or a Masters’ in related discipline is an added advantage.
Experience:
  • Three (3) years work experience in a similar role or in the Treasury department of a Financial Institution
  • Sound knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles), IFRS and financial analysis.
  • Minimum of 10 years cognate work experience; three (3) of which must have been in a Management position of a large corporation interfacing with the senior management team and Financial partners.
  • Good knowledge of the Financial Services Industry
