Information and Communication Technology Assistant at Action Against Hunger

We are recruiting to fill the position of:   Job Title: Information and Communication Technology Assistant Location: Abuja, FCT Starting Date: As Soon As Possible Direct Line Manager: Information and Communication Technology Manager
Objective 1 Server, Energy and Network Management Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all servers and relevant users’ old data are archived and kept in a safe location for Abuja and Dutse.
  • Supports the ICT Manager in the design and configuration of Local Area Network for the mission and take full responsibility in network administration and monitoring of users’ access to the network and all its resources in the Abuja Office
  • Ensures that servers and other network resources are installed and configured for the respective users for Abuja and Dutse.
  • Create and manage network folder(s) according to the standards for common use by group of common users (e.g departmental folders) for Abuja and Dutse
Objective 2 Data Security and Software Management Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all network resources (server, network drives, switches, routers, printers) are regularly checked and in good working conditions.
  • Ensures that all computers are fully-equipped with all the basic applications and all relevant/provided applications are installed for all users.
  • Ensures that all users’ official data are saved on the server and then server backed up on the NAS at scheduled times for Abuja and Dutse
  • Ensures safety of all information/data by installing anti-virus on all the computers and regularly updated for Abuja and Dutse
Obejective 3 Equipment Procurement and Management Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for updating all equipment folders with the equipment card and other relevant information for the mission.
  • Configures and allocates all requested equipment to Abuja and Dutse users with well-documented Equipment Temporary Allocation Form.
  • Ensure that all ICT equipment in Abuja and Dutse are in good working conditions and work closely with external technicians for the repairs of all equipment for Abuja and Dutse offices and other equipment sent from the field to Abuja.
  • Close collaboration with the Capital Logistician, be responsible for regular assets inventory for Abuja and Dutse and report same to the ICT Manager
  • Support the ICT Manager in the design/maintenance and operations of the inventory management system
  • Collaborates with the procurement team to ensure all requested equipment is procured with the right specifications
  • Supports the ICT Manager to ensure delivered equipment is up to the requested specifications
  • Take responsibility for the coding/labeling and dispatching of all procured equipment to the field with the close support of the ICT Manager
  • Supports the ICT Manager to ensure that all staff has the required equipment for the delivery of their roles.
  • Provides the detail information of all the new equipment to the ICT Manager for an onward update of the mission equipment-list.
Objective 4 Communication Service and Subscription Management Tasks and Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the ICT Manager request for or procure new GSM lines based on the needs.
  • In collaboration with the Service Providers provides support to all GSM users
  • Closely monitor the use of all communication services (internet, gsm, satellite, and radio) for unprofessional use or any possible abuse and report the same to the ICT Manager.
  • Responsible for the allocation of GSM lines to users and maintain the records.
  • Closely monitor the use of all GSM lines and report any abuse to the ICT Manager.
Objective 5 User Management Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Configure all accounts (email, NHF and other relevant platforms) for all Abuja and Dutse users and  maintain the database for same for the locations
  • Leads in the day to day user support and all requested supports are rendered within reasonable time frame for Abuja and Dutse
  • Supports the ICT Manager in managing all ICT projects for Abuja and Dutse
  • Ensures that ICT induction is conducted for all Abuja and Dutse staff
  • Collabprate with the ICT Manager periodically conduct training for all Abuja and Dutse ICT users
Internal & External Relationship Internal:
  • LogHoD, Capital Logistician and other Log Team: collaboration on relevant tasks
  • Others Programme Managers:: exchange of information and coordination (integrated approach).
  • ICT Manager: hierarchical relationship – technical support – exchange of information, collaboration on planning and all base matters
  • ICT Officers: exchange of information, collaboration on planning and all ICT matters
External:
  • Local suppliers: exchange of information, coordination, influence on the choice of technical option
  • Local representatives of international aid organizations: exchange of information
  • Local governmental and non-governmental partners: exchange of information, coordination,
Position Requirements Qualifications:
  • Professional certificate(s) in the ICT sector.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree / Higher National Diploma in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science and related fields
Skills and Experience: Essential:
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, rigorous, self-motivated, a strong sense of responsibility, ability to work independently
  • Capacity for analysis, synthesis, and reporting of large amounts of information
  • Significant experience working in a similar position,
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills; approachable, diplomatic, able to maintain confidentiality; able to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural teams in a complex, multi-site work environment
  • Computer literacy including all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Preferred:
  • Previous experience working for NGOs an asset, particularly international related NGOs
  • Fluency in one or more National/regional languages is an asset
Salary NGN156,995 monthly
