Nuway Oaklane Limited is a marginal field operator. Nuway Oaklane is the operator of PPL 219 in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria.

We are recruiting a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Head, Exploration and Development

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The applicant shall be responsible for further exploration activities on the field, field development, project management and team building/cohesion.
  • While having two or three direct reports in the area of sub-surface management and reservoir engineering (with prospects of expanding the team as needs arise).
  • The applicant will have to deal with different other professionals and service providers to ensure efficient field operations.

Furthermore, the job descriptions would include:

  • To provide expertise in field development plans, reserves assessment, assets acquisition and new ventures, exploration, appraisal and field developmental activities.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day activity of a mid-sized multi-disciplinary oil producing asset.
  • Strategy and policy development
  • Take leadership in development engineering and training of other teams.
  • Conducting technical evaluations of reserves and fluid distributions in individual reservoir systems, utilizing petrophysical, geological, seismic and production data.
  • Preparing reservoir development plans and capital costs forecast.
  • Building dynamic reservoir simulation models and conducting reservoir simulation history matching for reserves monitoring and optimizing recovery efficiency under primary and secondary recovery mechanisms.
  • Construction and maintenance of dynamic models that will be used to make predictions for a variety of field development scenarios and underpin field development plans.
  • Reports to management and other key stakeholders on a regular basis to share development progress.
  • Evaluating drilling opportunities from a business perspective, transforming technical data into development plans and capital costs forecasts.
  • Handling surveillance of production, injection and pressure data.
  • Developing an optimized drainage plan for all phases of development.
  • Developing and maintaining reserve and resource estimates, supported by deterministic and probabilistic numerical analysis methods.

Qualifications & Experience

  • First Degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering or any related field with a Master's Degree in relevant field; membership of relevant professional bodies; an MBA or higher degrees will be added advantage.
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant working experience, out of which, at least 10 years should be in the management of an oilfield, preferably in a marginal field in Nigeria, or the gulf region.
