Job Summary
- Our client is looking to hire a Project Planner who will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans to ensure successful delivery of projects within the organization.
- The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to identify project requirements, establish project timelines, and monitor progress against plans.
- The role will also identify and mitigate potential risks, develop contingency plans, and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive project requirements in line with the scope of projects, including determining the start and delivery dates, creating and defining project goals and objectives with management.
- Analyze each phase of projects to determine budgets.
- Create and maintain schedules for all phases of the project.
- Estimate the project timeline and make sure teams adhere to delivery dates.
- Monitor progress of projects to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage the human and capital resources of a project to ensure timely delivery.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks that can delay and derail project delivery or the cost and take remedial action.
- Provide reports on deviations to the original project plan that can lead to serious delays and budget overruns.
- Oversee schedules and risk management plans and provide serious deviations warnings hindering project results.
- Deploy critical path analysisto identify tasks vital to the timely completion of projects, improve resource allocation and reduce delays and cost overruns.
- Deploy work breakdown structure (WBS) to organize a team's activities into manageable parts.
- Track project costs and ensure implementation stays within predicted estimates for each project phase.
- Gather actual data, update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from project team.
- Create reports detailing the status of projects and highlighting any potential issues that may arise.
- Prepare and present internal and external project reports for stakeholders.
- Document and maintain records on project scheduling processes.
- Prepare short and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from all key players and team members.
Requirements
- First Degree in Engineering – (Petro-) Chemical Engineering; Environmental Engineering or Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science.
- Professional qualification with relevant engineering and/or Project Management body, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environments).
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience in project management, seeing projects through the full life cycle.
- Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans.
- Basic understanding of variance analysis.
- In-depth expertise with cost estimates and cost analysis.
- Knowledge and use of primavera is compulsory.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role.
- Specific experience in oil and gas or petrochemicals.
Salary
N300,000 per month.
