Graduate Procurement Assistant recruitment at Danish Refugee Council (DRC)


The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a private, independent, humanitarian organization working on all aspects of the refugee cause in more than 30 countries throughout the world. The aim of DRC is to protect refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of forced migration, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. DRC works in accordance with the UN Conventions on Refugees and the Code of Conduct for the ICRC and NGOs in Disaster Relief. We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Procurement Assistant (National Contract Only)  Location: Maiduguri, Borno The Position

  • The Procurement Assistant reports to the Senior Procurement Officer in Maiduguri.
  • She/He provides support in term of procurement and as instructed by the Supervisor.
Responsibilities Objective 1: Provide Administrative Support to Procurement Officer:
  • Obtain quotations on behalf of Procurement Officer
  • Conduct small purchases and prepare related procurement documents
  • coordinate supplier during the delivery of the goods and services
  • Ensure correct filing and archiving of Procurement Files
Objective 2: Support Logistics Supply Chain:
  • Provide support in market analysis
  • Ensure best available prices & quality
Objective 1: Reporting:
  • Update and provide Procurement tracker on behalf of line manager on a weekly basis when required.
  • Update and provide the Supplier List on regular basis
Key Requirements Essentials:
  • 2 years work experience in logistics in any relevant sections such as procurement, supply chain, fleet management & inventory.
  • Knowledge & experience of dealing with service providers and contractors’ management.
  • Good computer skills in MS Word & Excel.
Education:
  • Bachelor Degree in logistics and supply chain with relevant professional certification
Desirables:
  • Ability to multitask and work comfortably under pressure
  • Flexible & willing to work in a remote setting & to travel to other field locations.
  • Experience from working in an (I)NGO
Conditions Availability: ASAP Salary and Conditions
  • In accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment;
  • The income will be subject to statutory deductions as per applicable Nigeria laws. The employee is responsible for the tax returns.
