Job Description

  • We are currently looking to fill the role of a Enterprise Development Officer, who will be responsible to principally oversee the implementation of livelihoods activities and administration of the teams across program field locations including managing a team of Enterprise Development Assistants towards the implementation of the income generating activities/livelihoods restoration component of the BHA funded project in targeted IDPs and host communities in Monguno, Borno State.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate closely with the FSL Programme Manager to ensure all IGA/livelihoods restoration activities are implemented effectively and timely.
  • Contribute to the development of the project’s community mobilisation strategies for targeting and registration of beneficiaries.
  • Develop and strengthen good linkages and coordination with local government stakeholders, government line agencies/ministries, related stakeholders and service providers to ensure maximum support for the implementation of livelihoods activities in target area of intervention.
  • Extract data and information from weekly reports from the field and aggregate same for inclusion in the monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Work with M&E under the direction of the FSL Programme Manager to ensure that all annexes needed for report are available.
  • Ensure accountability, fairness and transparency in all activities related to IGA and livelihoods by ensuring community-level stakeholders (IDPs and host community members) are well informed and provide regular information through available channels.
  • Follow-ups on the program activities to ensure that program objectives and outputs are achieved and activities are implemented in accordance with standard rules, regulations and operational procedures, agreed strategies, implementation plans and requirements.
  • Facilitate and supervise the collection and management of beneficiaries’ data, distribution list for reference purposes and successful implementation of program activities.
  • Verify accuracy of and pay vouchers for the allowances of stakeholder, seconded staff and daily workers.
  • Ensure field visits to monitor project activities conducted by Enterprise Development Assistants to provide support and guidance.
  • In collaboration with FSL Programme Manager, support the development of tools to monitor and improve the quality of BHA FSL Project.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Agric Economics, Economics, Business Management and Entrepreneurship Development Studies.
  • Previous experience in Livelihood programming/IGA intervention.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in working for NGO/INGO in humanitarian/development context.
  • Excellent team, budget and project management and representation competencies.
  • Previous experience with Food Security and Livelihoods programming;
  • Capacity to supervise a team.
  • Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
  • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Fluency in Hausa, or Kanuri  and English languages.

Starting Basic Salary

  • NGN326,033 per month (excluding other benefits).
