We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Logistics Officer - Fleet Location: Damaturu, Yobe Job Summary

  • The position is based in Damaturu, Yobe State and supervised by the Logistics Manager.
  • The Logistics Officer will perform logistics activities which includes but are not limited to supply chain and fleet management.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Ensure good working conditions of the vehicle fleet.
  • Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and ensure adherence to disciplinary procedures and drivers’ orientation program.
  • Oversee proper use of fuel rations; maintain log and account for fuel and oil storage tanks.
  • Obtain and maintain truck licensing, registrations and permits up to date.
  • Obtain and maintain annual inspections by regulatory authorities or in line with contractual obligations from counter-parties through capital team.
  • Assist Fleet assistant to keep archive of log book, job/maintenance card, fuel voucher properly.
  • Follow up and monitor the application of logistic procedures on sub base.
  • Participation in defining and improving logistical procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of logistics external audits.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of a Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Fleet management or any other equivalent course.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of computer packages MS office, email and internet use.
  • Good communication skills in both written and oral English and excellent in Hausa or Kanuri language.
  • Previous experience working with NGO or UN agencies is desirable.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of logistics core competencies
  • Proven knowledge of Fleet tracking online application like TerraMar.

  • The position is based in Damaturu, Yobe State and supervised by the Logistics Officer.
  • The Logistics Assistant performs logistics activities which includes but are not limited to procurement and fleet management.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Manage the stock of vehicle spare parts and their consumption.
  • Assist to write reports on the fuel consumption and cost for each vehicle.
  • Follow up weekly checklist for vehicle as per Kit Log 3.6.
  • Follow up on the vehicles speed using track point using the device installed in the system in collaboration with the logistics officer-fleet.
  • Provide the required information on rental vehicles in collaboration with the lead driver.
  • Collect safety meeting agendas from logistics officer-fleet and share it with the rest of the fleet team.
  • Oversee proper use of fuel rations; maintain log and account for fuel and oil storage tanks.
  • Assist and maintain vehicle licensing, registrations and permits up to date in collaboration with the logistics officer-fleet.
  • Assist in providing general logistics support.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain or any other equivalent course.
  • Minimum of 1 year logistics or procurement work experience.
  • IT/Excel literate.
  • Highly motivated and flexible.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with local/international NGO is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • The position is based in Monguno, Borno State and reports to the Community Mobilization Officer - Youth Employment. The RESILAC project, "Lake Chad Inclusive Economic and Social Recovery" aim to provide a response combining emergency, rehabilitation and recovery in the Lake Chad region (bordering with Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria and Chad) - an area affected by an economic and social crisis, recurring climate shocks and a regional security crisis.
  • The project has received support from the French Development Agency and the European Union (via the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa).
  • The Youth Employment Assistant will play a key role in implementing activities related to professional training, youth employment and insertion of young men and women in Jere, Borno state.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Ensure community sensitization on the program objectives and methods to stimulate & eventually promote the understanding and participation of the target population.
  • Support the identification of vulnerable young men and women to include in High Intensity Labour activities for rehabilitating community assets, on the basis of a clear targeting methodology.
  • Network and coordinate with the relevant stakeholders such as the community, community leaders, I/NGO actors in the working area and internal players.
  • Maintain community and beneficiaries engagement with the program.
  • Directly implement activities in line with project work plans and quality standards
  • Actively sensitize the population on RESILAC key messages and particularly messages for Pillar 2.2 agreed with the Youth Employment Officer.
  • Maintain community and beneficiaries engagement with the program, communicating any issue to the Community mobilisation officer.
  • Responsible in implementing community mobilization strategy in field.
  • Assist the Youth Employment Officer is organizing all activities taking place at the assigned LGA  related to professional training and employment of vulnerable youth.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of National Diploma in Public Administration, Community Health Extension, Political Science, and Public Health or other related qualifications.
  • Minimum of a year working experience in humanitarian context.
  • Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Provide support in implementing mobilization, training, site supervision activities.
  • Direct implementation of the activities as specified in the project Pillar 2.1 at LGA level in line with the work plan to adhere the deadlines. This includes community mobilization and sensitization, targeting, distribution of materials, construction/rehabilitation site supervision etc.
  • Develop a community mobilization and sensitization strategy for effective project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of internal and donor activity reports.
  • Facilitate and support systematic monitoring and evaluation of activities.
  • Identify methods of community mobilization that enhance partnership and coordination with government officials, local communities, internal integration within sectors and programs.
  • Manage the community mobilization assistants to ensure compliance, technical quality and coherence in all Action Against Hunger activities such as developing clear work plans and schedule regular meetings to oversee progress against pillar targets and to ensure adherence to program's mission and standards.
  • Establish good relationship and network with community leaders and other actors in the working area (I/NGOs)
  • Provide training and orientation to target communities regarding Action Against Hunger Project and other parts of mobilization activities of the project as well as providing guidelines and training to field assistants for effective community mobilization at the local government area level.
  • Contribute to organizational and sector-wide learning through good quality input for lessons learned, best practices, evaluations etc. for all the components of the program for training, mobilization and IEC materials.
  • Effectively escalate all key information coming from the field level and suggest mitigation of daily challenges to program team.
Position Requirements
  • Degree in Economics, Business management, Social sciences, Agriculture, Education and other relevant degrees.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in humanitarian context.
  • Previous NGO experience in High Intensity Manual Work, cash 4 work, rehabilitation of community assets, enhancement of productive techniques or related.
  • Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field.
  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to screening sites.
  • Proficiency with either of local languages (Hausa, Kanuri, Fulani).
