  • Manage mechanical construction projects through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability.
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
  • Review job estimate and prepare project budgets.
  • Estimate and negotiate change orders
  • Prepare/ review submittals
  • Track, forecast, report labour hours and material costs
  • Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials
  • Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope and specifications of project contract/subcontract
  • Maintain and control documents in compliance with UMC Standards as well as contractual compliance
  • Supervise Project Engineers and General Superintendents including quarterly and annual coaching.
  • Collaborate with field labour supervision to plan, organize and schedule project work including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule
  • Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications
  • Prepare fabrication shop work package including detail drawing review, material take off and buyout, and man-hour fabrication budget
  • Ensure full compliance with Safety Program at the jobsite
  • Provide proactive, clear and timely communication to team members

Education and/or Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ of project Engineering and 3 years of Project Management on site
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering is desired
  • Additional qualification in COREN, PMP, and AACEI will be an added advantage

    Job Title: Project Engineer (Electrical) Location: Lagos Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report to the Project Manager/Managing Partner depending on the site organogram
  • Provide electrical inspection and evaluation services develop project programs and budgets for agencies.
  • Reading design specifications and technical drawings prepared by other contractors
  • Attend general and departmental meetings for the company.
  • Prepare conceptual designs, working and As-Built Drawings for projects engaged by the company.
  • Manage and maintain client relationships and communicate with clients to explain proposals, present research findings, establish specifications or discuss project status.
  • Develop and implement design and construction of assigned projects according to laid down specifications or standards
  • Providing analytical and problem solving support, employing engineering skills, in support of business and quality improvement processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, bill- of quantities and documentation (Operating and maintenance Manuals)
  • Advise and assist in obtaining patents or meeting other legal requirements.
  • Maintain an awareness of trends, knowledge of the market and may also conduct research / market intelligence in the field of expertise.(Material sourcing and price Intelligence)
  • Motivate and train staff as the need arises. Provide management and leadership skills, including some level of administration.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Confer with Engineers, Regulators, Vendors and others, to plan and review projects, and to provide technical assistance. This includes an understanding of import procedures as it affects our operations.
  • Review project activities, perform site visits, coordinate contractors and prepare operational reports.
  • Make presentation at professional meetings further knowledge in the field.
Requirements
  • Site experience on electrical installation and commissioning.
  • Sound technical knowledge about electrical circuits, design and Company Standard to respective area.
  • Adequate experience in trouble shooting.
  • Good communication skill both verbal and written.
  • Good Team Player.
  • Most Possess minimum of BSc in Electrical Engineering.
  • Possession of COREN and HSE, will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 4-5 working experience as Electrical Engineer is required for this role.

  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts.

Requirements

  • Certifications such as COREN, PMP, and AACEI will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 4 - 5 working experience as Electrical Engineer and 2 years’ experience as Project Manager in the field of Electrical Engineering required for this role.

Job Title: Project Engineer (Mechanical) Location: Lagos Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintains, repairs and installs plumbing and related fixtures and components.
  • Repairs piping of various size and type.
  • Checks safety equipment and replaces components such as washers, gaskets and filters.
  • Inspects, repairs or replaces pumps, valves and boiler systems.
  • Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to Plumbing Code Requirements and reports back to supervisor.
  • Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.
  • Assemble and install valves and fittings.
  • Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls. 9. Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners.
  • Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim.
  • Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.
  • Maintains appropriate service and repair records.
  • Researches, purchases and inventories equipment parts and supplies.
  • Responds to routine emergency calls for repairs and service.
  • May train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area.
  • Assists and serves as back up to other Facilities employees.
  • Trains and directs the work of other classified staff on project site.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with wealth of experience in Piping or Plumbing
  • 5 years cognate experience in plumbing/piping
  • Possession of COREN and HSE, will be an added advantage
  • Good communication skill both verbal and written
