Job Title: Checker, Packing Plant - Cement

Job Summary

  • Receiving ATC and cross check trucks after loading (Loaded as per ATC or not)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attach cement bags to roto packer which discharges cement.
  • Responsible for counting number of bags loaded in the truck, it should not be more than ATC quantity.
  • Reporting of any abnormality observed with loading machine or trucks.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping of all loading bags.
  • Accounting and reporting of damage bags by auto Loader / Trucks.
  • Ensure immediate replacement of trucks to be loaded.

Requirements

  • Trade test II / WASC / GCE / SSCE + 10Years
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of cement production process
  • Good knowledge of the cement packing machines/functions and procedures
  • Working knowledge of the cement packing machines/ functions and procedures

Job Title: CCR Operator, Packing Plant - (Cement Plant)

Job Description

  • Monitoring all packing plant operation panels.
  • Responsible for the extraction of cement from storage silos/Bulk silos into Day silos and Bin.
  • To load and dispatch 750mt of cement in twelve hours (into the truck).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining cleanliness of the work place.
  • Compliance with ISO Management System (QMS, EMS and OHSAS).
  • Any other job as may be assigned by the shift supervisor or superior officer.
  • Liaise with the cement mill CCR for cement stock level management for harmonized operation.
  • Take proper charge from previous shift CCR and picking officer.
  • Take the status of trucks and plan no. of packers to operate, coordinate with cement mill for silo feeding.
  • To operate in packing plant machine in auto/group mode.
  • Coordinate with shift manager, shift supervisor for any stoppages and abnormality
  • Coordinate with technical team to attend any stoppages.
  • Record all stoppages, production shift wise, packer wise in proper format in computer.
  • Ensure all equipment’s are operating within desired parameters.
  • Coordinate with truck placer, packer supervisor, silo operator to ensure right require material into the bags and into the required truck on loading bay.
  • Send hourly truck status to HOD, HOS, and shift manager.
  • Send shift end report to HOD, HOS, and shift manager

Requirements

  • B.Sc. / HND (Applied Science: Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science) in related discipline
  • Five years’ experience.
  • Must have knowledge on computer Microsoft word.
  • Physically fit to do the job.
  • Work experience of five years experience.

Job Title: Mechanical Technician, Packing Plant - Cement

Job Summary

  • Perform a variety of tasks pertaining to fabrication, installation, maintenance, repair, and service of mechanical equipment, instruments and structures used within the plant.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Shift Technicians to identify problematic equipment/machines in the plant and effect repairs promptly.
  • Implement SOP’s for maintenance.
  • Execute corrective maintenance on all assigned equipment/ machines in a timely manner.
  • Assist to ensure safety precautions are observed and personal protection equipment are worn during repairs or scheduled maintenance.
  • Take inventory of working tools weekly to ensure that it matches the original tool list provided.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Replace minor fixtures in the plant machines.
  • Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Enter data into ERP system (e.g., SAP) for spares and consumables.
  • Technicians should personally clean operating equipment for effective performance
  • Technicians should maintain the tools and tackle properly
  • Ensures quality maintenance as per PM schedule
  • Reports any break down or stoppages more than 30mins to sectional engineers.
  • Carry out briefly- analysis of break down jobs
  • Ensure no break down on groups taken for maintenance until next PM schedule date.
  • Attends to any breaks down within the shortest possible time.
  • Fill the checklist against the job carried out daily and file it properly
  • Ensure to remove all scrap after maintenance
  • Identify potential environmental and OHS hazards

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • Trade Test I in Mechanical related Trade with 5 years relevant work experience.
  • OND Mechanical Engineering + 2 years experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of cement production process
  • In-depth knowledge of the cement packing machines/ functions and procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with accuracy and speed

Job Title: Silo Operator, Packing Plant - Cement

Job Summary

  • Tend the cement silo effectively to ensure proper storage of finished cement and to maintain established quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate stationary pump in pneumatic conveyor system that conveys finished cement from one bin to another.
  • Operate pump, air compressor, and other conveying equipment in line with agreed operating procedures.
  • Monitor pressure dials on pump to indicate operating condition of conveyor to ensure proper functioning.
  • Make minor repairs to the stationary pump to correct faulty operation and, oil and grease equipment’s.
  • Monitor indicator level of silos to ensure that it is not filled beyond capacity.
  • Ensure safety of personnel by executing silo operations in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Take proper charge from previous shift.
  • Take the status of each silo materials and Fan blowers.
  • Coordinate with shift manager and CCR officer on silo level status and silo milling to.
  • Maintaining good records report/log books
  • Right use of tools and silo equipment
  • Making radios availability for communications.
