  • To design and implement strategies for the provision of efficient and effective security services support that maximises safety of the Group's assets in all its locations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Define and articulate the Groups security strategy and operational model
  • Define operational policies, procedures and programs in line with a well-articulated strategy.
  • Define and oversee service level agreement between the organisation and security service providers.
  • Take responsibility for regular updates of security policies and procedures in line with environmental realities and innovations.
  • Ensure proactive dissemination of and training on security policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the deployment of up-to-date security equipment Group-wide in all offices and site locations across the country.
  • Keep abreast of global and local test practices in security management of people and assets.
  • Coordinate the analysis of security information and develop relevant mitigating action steps.
  • Manage and control access to sites and company
  • Constitute and manage a crisis management team.
  • Take responsibility for the development of a security-conscious culture among the workforce by organizing relevant security programs
  • Ensure incidents and crisis are proactively and promptly identified, managed and mitigated effectively
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely preparation and dissemination of security reports to the ED corporate services and management
  • Manage the function’s budget and approval expenditures within authority limits.
  • Perform other tasks as required by the ED, Corporate Services.
  • Coordinate activities of security officers ensuring optimal service delivery and compliance with stated policies and procedures
  • Identify and recommend relevant security enhancement equipment, programs and initiatives to ensure the organisation’s assets and sites are adequately protected.
  • Build and manage relationship with the Nigerian State Security Officers and external security agencies.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Quality of security services
  • Number of Security breaches/lapses/incidents
  • Timely response to emergency situations
Experience and Educations
  • First degree in any related discipline
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years experience in company and Industry Security
  • Not more than 50 years of age
  • Military, paramilitary or civil defence experience and must have attained a minimum level of an Assistant Superintendent or its equivalent.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Appreciation of security and threat analysis concepts, leading practices, techniques and mitigating steps
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of security systems, management and law enforcement
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Political savviness, maturity and tact
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills
  • Excellent investigation skills, Result oriented, high level of integrity
  • Good appreciation and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools
  • Ability to think strategically and holistically and to appreciate the systematic impact of various issues and solutions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent networking, leverage and negotiation skills
