Job Title: Graduate Finance Assistant

Location: Lagos

Details

  • Graduate Finance Assistant at Alert Microfinance Bank helpin support of our day-to-day transactions, including expenses, payroll, processing payments, maintaining cost reports and managing invoices

Job Description

  • Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions
  • Prepare balance sheets
  • Track and reconcile bank statements
  • Create cost analysis reports (fixed and variable costs)
  • Process tax payments
  • Support monthly payroll and keep organized records
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers and partners as needed
  • Provide administrative support during budget preparation
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits

Requirements

  • Min of B.Sc. or HND in Accounts and Finance related role.
  • At least 1 year work experience.
  • Previous experience in Management and proficient use of accounting software added advantage E.g. QuickBooks, Peachtree, SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package, especially Excel and Word
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills

Job Title: Loan Officer (Public Service Sector)

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos

Details

  • Loan officers at Alert Microfinance Bank are responsible for the evaluation and processing of loans and act as liaison between customers and the organization while helping qualified applicants acquire loans in a timely manner.

Job Description

  • Market loan products and process loan applications for employees in the Public Service Sector.
  • Interview loan applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of repayment of loans
  • Determine all applicable ratios and metrics and set up loan payment plans
  • Complete loan contracts and counsel clients on policies and restrictions
  • Opening loan applications Conducting loan analysis by visiting the business and household of clients
  • Visiting the business /employer of guarantors and preparing a complete loan assessment according to the bank’s credit procedures
  • Presenting loan proposals to the credit units and informing the client about the decision of the credit units
  • Ensuring punctual repayments of acquired loans from clients, contacting and visiting all parties based on needs
  • Ensuring high quality standards of the bank’s credit portfolio
  • Ability to meet and exceed targets while actively working to increasing business portfolio and client’s base.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of B.Sc. or its equivalent in Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum of 3/5 years cognate experience from a reputable Microfinance Bank.
  • Sound Risk Management experience
  • Good knowledge of Lagos Island and Mainland markets
  • Ability to disburse loans in large volumes without default to employees in the public sector (civil service workers)
  • Experienced in repayment tracking and loan collection without a day default

Job Title: Head of Internal Control / Compliance

  • Head of Internal Control at Alert Microfinance Bank is a critical role in delivering the organization’s strategic objectives by objectively assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of governance and management of risks, giving an evidence-based opinion on all aspects of governance, risk management and internal control.

Job Description

  • Monitoring internal audit system
  • Conduct regular internal audit of the bank
  • Assist in reconciliation and analysis of transactions
  • Conduct client visit on regular basis
  • Conduct investigations on alleged irregularities and fraud
  • Assist in monitoring the business function of the branches and reporting all material findings and preparing appropriate recommendations for corrective actions
  • Ensure proper safeguard of assets and proper utilization
  • Ensure financial transactions are properly recorded summarized and reported accordingly
  • Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretions in sharing such information with legal confines
  • Lead and coordinate internal audit missions

  • Head of Fintech at Alert Microfinance Bank is a critical role and the idea candidate will be responsible to lead the teams on how to identify, prioritize, win, launch and develop Fintech portfolios.

Job Description
Process Management:

  • Lead the development of a programmatic process for Fintech deals with executive team.
  • Identify friction points for Fintech and market sales teams in prospecting, pitching, onboarding and growing new business. Set standards for the client experience and work with Client Services, Risk, Operations, Sales and Finance to ensure they are met.
  • Lead the development of frameworks and content centrally that can be repeatedly used by market sales teams (Risk management, category prioritization and sales collaterals):
  • Work with Finance and other teams to solve any challenges to get a picture of the pipeline
  • Work with the Risk team to manage the risk of the portfolio to ensure the integrity of the ecosystem while balancing client needs for speed

Leadership, Planning & Communication:

  • Develop strategic and operational plans for Fintech business, leading thought leadership on the value of Fintech to the broader business
  • Work with the management team to structure their Cluster Fintech sales teams.
  • Report and interact with senior management to indicate the status of Fintech deal progress. Bringing a commercial lens to the performance of Fintech in the organization

Requirements

  • Min of B.Sc or HND in related role.

  • Extensive experience in the payments / fintech / banking / telecoms or related technology industry with experience of operating in a Microfinance Bank System

Job Title: Deputy Finance Manager

Job Description

  • Managingand coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and reforecast processes.
  • Providing back office services such as accounts payable, collection and payroll.
  • Monitoring cash flow and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of day-to-day financial preparations.
  • Maintaining a strong framework of internal controls, accounting processes and procedures.
  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Presenting monthly results and reports to management as well as to relevant colleagues.
  • Providing insightful reporting and commercial analysis to support management decision making.
  • Managing the cash-flow needs of the company while managing debt profiles and investments.
  • Carrying out post investment and expenditure reviews.
  • Oversee general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts receivables & payables, intercompany, treasury, taxation, and payroll.
  • Ensuring that payments to vendors and salaries are processed.
  • Controlling budgets and expenditure.
  • Researching on factors influencing business performance.
