Job Description
- Management of key processes within the Treasury and Reporting function including cash management, online payments, preparation of cash flow forecasts, ensuring robust controls around bank accounts, prepare commentaries for monthly business performance and strive for continuous improvement within treasury and reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ownership of the bank reconciliation process and ensure that bank reconciliation for all banks is prepared in time and are up-to-date.
- Plan and organize daily activities of treasury functions including daily call-over of prior day transactions, data entry, reporting, reconciliation of digital payment platforms and supporting documentation.
- Maintain ownership of the bank reconciliation process and ensure that all ledger bank accounts are accurately and timely reconciled, investigate and ensure reconciling cash/bank items are cleared at month end.
- Prepare the Daily Treasury Statement (DTS), check interest, bank fees, and other charges to ensure that they comply with the agreed rates with the banks and communicate findings to the Head of Finance.
- Prepare the Projected Cash Flow Statements on a weekly basis.
- Prepare and maintain loan schedules. Take responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of monthly loan interest expenses and accruals.
- Ensure that all outstanding reconciliatory items are promptly reported for investigation so that cashbook balances at any point in time reflect the company’s actual position on cash/overdraft balances.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Head of Finance and any relevant authority for further investigation and resolution.
- Develop and manage strategies, processes, and policies around treasury activities.
- Monthly Payroll preparation.
- Monthly preparation and reconciliation of statutory deductions (PFA) schedules with the respective remittances.
- Raise payment schedules for terminal benefits, probationary pay, off-payroll payments etc.
- Reconcile bank transactions to payroll monthly.
- Generate and dispatch of pay slips monthly
- Interpret and Implement Payroll internal control procedures.
- Prepare the daily call-over schedule.
- Accurate and timely preparation of short-term and medium-term cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare the monthly Revenue Assurance Report.
- Analyze the Cash and Cash Equivalents of the monthly Management Accounts and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting standards.
- Prepare reports, and commentaries on the management of cash and cash equivalents for monthly and quarterly reporting and provide insights to the Head of Finance on business performance.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial transactions, documents, and reports.
- Preparation and filing of PAYE tax annual returns with relevant SIRS.
- Process PENCOM & NSITF Compliance certificate renewal
Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience in treasury function or in a relevant financial management position.
- Detailed knowledge of financial legislations, monetary and fiscal policies, financial processes and practices, and treasury management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills.
- Good leadership skills and eye for good judgement.
- Ability to promote process improvement.
- Ability to manage time against deadlines.
- High level of energy and enthusiasm.
- Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Knowledge of monetary markets, business investment management, financial analysis and modelling and data analysis skills.
- Liquidity planning and control skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and ERP knowledge.
