Job Title: Senior Maintenance Technician, Steam - SMTS - to work on FPSO in Nigeria

Location: Nigeria

Reports to: MSUP

Mission

  • Execute safe and efficient operation of steam turbines, steam boilers and related systems.

Scope

  • Is the supervisor of all work performed by Steam System Maintenance Technicians
  • Shall assist the MSUP in all matters related to the safe and efficient operation of steam turbines, steam boilers and related systems.
  • Shall ensure that steam turbines, steam boilers and related systems are maintained with proper cleanliness and in good working condition
  • Carry out steam boiler room watches as required by MSUP

Duties

The SMTS shall ensure that the following requirements are met, and that the following activities are executed safely and professionally, in accordance with approved work procedures and/or quality plans that:

  • To be fully familiar with rules, regulations and work procedures applicable to the task to be executed Familiar with the PTW System Personnel executing hazardous work are well informed of and follow the approved work procedures and/or quality plans
  • Machinery is maintained and operated in accordance with maintenance plans and manufacturers and Company instructions
  • Spare parts are checked and safely stored, and that replenishments are ordered through the MSUP Planning and distribution (in writing) of daily work to engine crew.
  • Follow up on all work going on.
  • Control of his subordinates working hours
  • In addition, the OIM or any superior may assign any other tasks to be performed.

Qualifications

  • Must meet the requirements for certification as an officer in charge of an engineering watch on seagoing ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 750 kW propulsion power or more and have not less than 12 months approved seagoing service in that capacity Have completed approved education and training and meet the standard of competence specified in section A-III/2 of the STCW Code
  • Excellent command in English written and spoken.
