Job Description
- The successful applicant for the Program Manager role will work closely with the data analytics and management teams to ensure operational aspects of the fellowship are well-managed.
- They will guide the fellows regarding how to navigate program processes and procedures; and will work in partnership with PATH’s business, finance, and operations units to provide the support and resources required to successfully implement the program activities while remaining in compliance with PATH policies and procedures.
- They will report to the Data and Analytics Program Advisor, based in Seattle, Washington.
- The position can be located in Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), or Senegal.
- Applicants must possess the legal right to work in any of these three countries.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Fellowship program advancement, recruitment, and coordination of the fellows.
- Assist with HR management, recruiting and onboarding of fellows.
- Maintain an active knowledge and understanding of PATH policies and procedures as well as donor rules and regulations; seek out guidance from the relevant authority to resolve policy questions.
- Maintain regular communication with and provide support and guidance to fellows for financial, administrative, and operational issues.
- Implement and manage team tools to improve communication, work efficiency, and collaboration within and across the team and partners.
- Provide logistical support for in-country trainings and workshops
- Support the dissemination of the activities and achievements of the fellows to NMPs and funders, including producing presentations and writing reports
- Serve as a liaison between the larger project teams, the Data and Analytics team, and the data fellows.
- Manage day-to-day administration and operational aspects of the fellowship program including:
- Reviewing scopes of work and devising milestones.
- Tracking fellows’ assignments, outputs, and activities.
- Managing all contractual responsibilities for fellows, including (but not limited to) contracts, sub-agreements, purchase orders, work orders, and consultant agreements.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least five years of experience in management and project administration, preferably with an international organization and global teams.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving and lateral thinking ability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly negotiation, listening, judgment, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, and to work on multiple work streams and projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience in public health programming is required, experience in malaria programming is a plus. A cover letter is required.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, facilitate, and manage trainings and workshops.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present content and results with key stakeholders to drive forward programmatic goals.
- Effective time-management and organization skills, with the ability to handle a high volume of large, complex tasks.
- Fluency in English is required with strong oral and written presentation skills. (Professional proficiency in French is preferred.)
- Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional, cross-geographical teams to accomplish objectives.
