Job Title: Health Officer
Location: Borno, Maiduguri
Position Overview
- Knowledge and understanding of Action Against Hunger mandate, humanitarian principles and current programs.
- With the program manager, develop coherent messages and send to
the community about the missions’ mandate, program objectives and
approach. Build trust between the mission and the community.
Specific Objectives:
- Conduct community mobilization sessions for public health.
- Contact key leaders, community groups and community members and identify health needs in each community.
- Develop messages to the community members and other target
groups according to various needs (mothers, fathers, youth, children
etc.)
- Support the implementation of community approach through regular
contact and exchange with community, gather information on the
community organization and identify key persons for the building of
case-finding and referral network, communication channels for
sensitization.
- Under the responsibility of the Nutrition Deputy Program Manager
and in cooperation with health facility staff, Community health
mobilizers and village leaders, identify the community volunteers to be
trained for acute malnutrition case identification and referral as well
as public health promotion activities.
- Ensure gender balance in community volunteers as well as a mix
of different specialties within the community (teachers, mothers etc.)
- Participate in the design and implementation of training workshops for the community volunteers.
- Conduct regular the supervision of volunteers in the field and
evaluate the adherence of the trained volunteers to the correct
nutritional screening, referral of cases and dissemination of public
health promotion topics. This includes not only supervision but
mentoring/coaching/on the job trainings.
- Ensure community sensitization on relevant topic related to the trainings.
- Continuous on the job training of community volunteers in public health related topics.
- Implement community health groups (CHGs) within the catchment population for each health facility targeted by CMAM.
- In collaboration with the Deputy Nutrition PM, plan the activities to be carried out by ACF’s community health team.
- Ensure close collaboration with the nutrition officers to ensure
the community activities are linked to the capacity building activities
at the health facility level.
- Provide timely coherent analysis of the community situation in
relation to health situation to the Deputy Nutrition Program Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing, Pharmacy/or Medical
Doctor with Primary health care Major or Nursing degree with solid
experience in Management of childhood illness and CMAM.
- 1 year experience working in a Stabilization centre, IMNCI and CMAM approach.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field

Job Title: Nutrition Officer
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Position Overview
- Knowledge and understanding of Action Against Hunger mandate, humanitarian principles and current programs.
- With the program manager, develop coherent messages and send to
the community about the missions’ mandate, program objectives and
approach. Build trust between the AAH and the community.
Specific Objectives:
- Conduct capacity assessment of health facilities: baseline, progress and end line and to come up with reports of the same.
- Identify issues/problems and solutions as a result of the
capacity assessment and progress assessment and in collaboration with
the Program Manager, adequately implement solutions to resolve problems.
- Assist in the supervision and monitoring of the implementation
of home visits of beneficiaries by community actors for follow-up of
non-respondents, defaulters and potential defaulters
- In collaboration with the community volunteers and as needed the
health facility staffs, mobilize the community for nutrition activities
(detection of case, referral, follow-up
- Support the community volunteers in the building up community
mobilization network system in communities and follow-up implementation
of activities
- Under the responsibility of the Deputy Nutrition Program Manager, identify key areas of training for the community actors.
- Identify training needs of Health workers and Community
Volunteers attached to facilities as well as conducting theoretical
trainings if necessary followed by On Job Training (OJT).
- Participate in regular internal and external coordination for the program at LGA level and at state level when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health, Nutrition, Nursing or related field. Higher level Degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years work experience in humanitarian contexts, with at least 1 year in conflict/insecure contexts.
- He/she must have experience in CMAM, IYCF and community mobilization.

Job Title: Health Assistant
Location: Borno, Maiduguri
Position Overview

- Build trust between the AAH and the community.
Specific Objectives
- Assists in the supervision and monitoring of the implementation
of home visits of beneficiaries by community actors for follow-up of

- In collaboration with the community volunteers and as needed the
health facility staffs, mobilize the community for nutrition activities
(detection of case, referral, follow-up). Active screening in phase one
of the project which proceeds to community volunteers implementing
passive screening in the second phase of the project.
- Supports the community volunteers in the building up of the
community mobilization network system in communities and follow-up
implementation of activities.
- Supervise community volunteers conducting screening and home visiting in the centres and communities
- Under the responsibility of the nutrition program manager identifies key areas of training for the community actors
- Inform the Nutrition Deputy Program Manager on training needs.
- Implement community health groups (according to methodology)
- Ensure outlined participation in the CHGs by all registered participants.
- Draw an action plan after every CHG session, and follow up this action plan at the beginning of the next session.
- Involve community volunteers in the CHGs.
- Follow up the community volunteers to make sure that they follow
up the communities to achieve the set action plans after the public
health sessions.
- Listen to the community volunteers and give them any necessary support in the field and report this to the office.
- Follow up the community volunteers and be sure that they are
conducting public health promotion in the community (a wide variety of
activities according to the identified needs, for example one-on-one,
bazaars, screening days, school groups etc.)
Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing, / Primary Health Care / or any related field
with solid experience in Management of childhood illness and CMAM.

Job Title: Base Finance Assistant
Location: Monguno, Borno
Position Overview
- The base finance assistant is responsible for the base cash box
and ensure the respect of the supply chain guidelines and payment mode
including filing and archive of documents.
Specific Objectives
- Visit the fields during various program/ activities to make payments
- Support the program’s cash transfer implementation
- Make payments and verify the consistency of supporting documents
submitted in accordance with the ACF’s procedures, ensuring all
invoices are accurate, consistent and signed
- Check the nature of all documents presented for retirements
(photocopy, original, pro forma, translation, date, signature, stamp,
terms used, accuracy of calculations, etc.)
- Respect ACF purchasing procedures as per KLV3 when giving an
advance and to report to Head of Base and Finance Coordinator if these
procedures are not respected.
- Clear and release cash advances with logistics / programs on weekly basis.
- Maintain a spread sheet of supplier payments.
- Ensure all suppliers are paid according to terms designated in signed contracts.
- Check that all invoices and their amounts are present from reception and the coherence with the accountancy in excel file.
- For the monthly accounting closure verify the accuracy of the accounting codes, the project codes and the budget codes.
- Photocopy and file all the invoices/Documents (base financial
books) according to the monthly base books respectively, before sending
to Capital office for archiving.
- Check and confirm all the invoices are present for each transaction.
- Classify and split all invoices according to budget lines if
necessary, particularly when previously used in various operations
(redistribution of the initial budget lines).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Bachelor level degree in
Management, Finance, or related field; MBA or similar higher degree a
plus.

Job Title: Driver
Locatio: Maiduguri, Borno
Position Overview
- Knowledge and understanding of Action Against Hunger mandate, humanitarian principles and current programs.
- With the program manager, develop coherent messages and send to
the community about the missions’ mandate, program objectives and
approach.
- Build trust between the AAH and the community.
Specific Objectives:
- Ensure safety and security of AAH vehicle and personnel.
- Drive in a safe way at all times, respecting the country’s
circulation rules and following the base/capital logistician’s planning
and instructions.
- Follow all AAH rules and regulations and vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines when using the vehicle.
- Ensure all personal documents (ID, driving licence) and vehicle documents are valid and kept on board at all time.
- Ensure maintenance of the mission vehicle
- Prepare departures to the field and assist with deliveries.
- Ensure all vehicle documentation are completed
- Ensure that transported goods are accompanied by dully filled
and signed delivery notes. Obtain signature of delivery note from
consignee and return document to the sender.
- Ensure all required equipment are on board and functioning.

Job Title: Complaints Response Mechanism Assistant
Location: Damaturu, Yobe
Position Overview
- CRM Assistant is responsible for ensuring mechanisms are in
place in all Action Against Hunger programmes to strengthen the quality
and accountability of emergency response under direct management of the
CRM Officer and M&E DPM.
- He/she will be responsible for upholding the organisation
commitments towards Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP)
standards especially in regards to information sharing, beneficiaries’
participation, complaints and response mechanism.
- CRM Assistant will be the primary support person to the CRM
Officer, will build capacity, monitor AAH performance against 2010 HAP
standard, and, crucially, will, in the first instance be the first point
of contact for beneficiary complaints.
Specific Objectives
- Provide support to the review and development of feedback
mechanism systems and tools, in collaboration with CRM Officer and
coordination team at Action Against Hunger Nigeria Mission.
- Communicate and disseminate complaints handling procedures,
policies and tools as appropriate to beneficiaries, project staff and
other stakeholders.
- Address the queries of callers using setup hotline while
respecting ethical and professional behaviour in accordance with the ACF
standard operating procedures and HAP guidelines.
- Provide accurate information related to the on the subject
callers matter and other related on going activities. Understand Action
Against Hunger programs/projects, as well as in order to redirect
internal cases to the right department or program.
- Accurately refer cases internally within the departments of the
ACF - with the support of the M&E DPM - following the standard
operating procedures set for the referral system within the base.
- Follow-up and receive weekly feedback, and case status progress
related to the internal cases referred to the programs/projects. Ensure
all documents and actions taken are documented, and feedback is given
back to the caller.
- Represent AAH externally in issues related to monitoring,
evaluation, accountability and reporting (consortia, alliances and
clusters) as needed.
- Build staff awareness and commitment to a complaints mechanism, ensuring all SOPs and ACF core policies are respected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Management, Social Research, Development Studies or a related field.
- At least with 2 years relevant experience in developing and maintaining accountability and learning activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accountability especially feedback
mechanisms concepts and international humanitarian quality standards.
- Fluency in English and local languages especially Hausa and Kanuri (both written and spoken skills).

- Under the responsibility of the Health & Nutrition Deputy

Clinic Supervisor and village leaders, identify the community volunteers
to be trained for acute malnutrition case identification and referral
as well as public health promotion activities.

Job Title: Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Officer
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Position Overview
- Knowledge and understanding of Action Against Hunger mandate,
humanitarian principles and current programs. With the program manager,
develop coherent messages and send to the community about the missions’
mandate, program objectives and approach. Build trust between the AAH
and the community.
Specific Objectives
- Conduct Simple Rapid Assessment (SRA) of all mothers with
children under 24 months that attend the OTP/SFP programme through the
local Mobile clinics.
- Conduct detailed assessment of child feeding practices in women requiring additional support or reveal difficulties.
- Maintain clear communication with other CMAM programme staff regarding status of beneficiaries.
- Provide the Pregnant women with preparatory counselling for
breast feeding and colostrum feeding, to ensure prevention of
pre-lacteal feeds and bottle feeding.
- Counseling the mothers on good maternal nutrition during pregnancy and lactation.
- Provide tailored one to one counseling sessions, based on
initial assessments, offering practical advice and education to mothers
on the key issues of infant and Young child feeding practices.
- Utilize the provided education material on breastfeeding and
complementary feeding practices, relaying accurate, practical and
specific advice for the mother’s needs.
- Ensure a comfortable, calm environment for counselling sessions and maintain good relationships with the beneficiaries.
- Ensure strong communication links with all other CMAM staff,
providing advice and support to all other staff members on IYCF issues
as and when they arise.
- Conduct education sessions within the surrounding community on
the importance of IYCF practices in conjunction with community
mobilisers.
- Aid in establishing mother to mother support groups (Community
Health Groups – CHGs) within the community to provide additional support
for mothers and extend knowledge of good IYCF practices.
- Play an active role on advocacy to promote proper IYCF
Practices, antenatal and post-natal checkups, importance of
institutional deliveries, vaccination and growth monitoring.
- Identify training needs of Health workers and Community
Volunteers attached to facilities as well as conducting theoretical
trainings if necessary followed by On Job Training (OJT).
- Participate in regular internal and external coordination for the program at LGA level and at state level when required.
- Integration of IYCF care practices within PHC/MCH component run by government staff.
Qualifications
