Enaro Energy is a startup Mini-Grid company that is currently developing a fully commercial, pilot mini-grid project in Nigeria with the intent to scale up and rapidly install several mini-grids across the country. It is a technology agnostic, distributed energy service provider that uses a variety of renewable and fossil fuel primary energy sources to provide competitively priced, predictable and reliable electrical power to small businesses and households across the country.

Job Title: Finance Associate

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • As a Finance Associate, you will be required to provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, designing, maintenance and implementing accounting systems.
  • You will also be expected to carry out the systematic classification and assessment of accounting data and preparation of related managerial and financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • As the finance focal point, you will lead the capital investment process, optimizing the capital structure, technology platform, procurement costs and social impact of each Mini-Grid in order to deliver required returns to all stakeholders.
  • Led the tracking of financial performance across the firm and individual projects and ensure project accounts are always in good standing for regulatory inspection.
  • You will also be intimately involved in the capital-raising process for the Mini-Grid projects helping to negotiate the best terms from capital providers.
  • Supervise bookkeeping and ensure adequate financial controls are in place across the firm operating locations
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process for the firm and individual projects and forecast cash flow requirements.
  • Lead preparation of management accounts and financial statements.
  • Carry out reconciliation of sales proceeds with third parties.
  • Tax planning, remittance and management.
  • Act as company focal point for the regulator or community-initiated inspection of accounts.
  • Supervising the delivery of a fit for purpose financial model that underpins our investment in Mini-Grids.
  • Optimizing each project to ensure targeted returns are achieved.
  • Collaborating with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to optimize the Mini-Grid tariff model.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a reputable institution in Accounting, Banking and Finance, or similar discipline.
  • ACCA or ICAN certification
  • Master's in Business Administration preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in finance in the utility or telecommunications sectors where you will have arranged financing from third-party financiers for projects with >$1M in CAPEX.
  • Understanding of regulated energy markets and utility pricing.
  • Understanding of the off-grid and mini-grid electricity markets.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 Monthly.
