Global Alliance for Chemical Industry (GACI) is an agrochemical manufacturing entity in Nigeria that formulates and produces high-quality technical grade herbicides and insecticides.

Job Title: Factory Shift Supervisor

Location: Kano
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day production activities on the manufacturing floor.
  • This role involves ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining product quality, managing a team of production workers, and adhering to safety and compliance standards.
  • Additional responsibilities include managing raw materials wastage, implementing short interval control, and overseeing recipe calculations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to meet production schedules and targets.
  • Apply opening-closing shifts protocols
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular short interval control meetings to review production performance.
  • Identify and address any immediate issues affecting production efficiency.
  • Use SIC data to drive continuous improvement and quick problem-solving on the production floor.
  • Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures and protocols.
  • Coordinate with the quality control department to address any quality issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and control raw materials usage to minimize waste.
  • Implement strategies to reduce wastage and improve material utilization.
  • Analyze wastage data and report findings to management with recommendations for improvement.
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or violations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output (total count & good count), downtime, head count and quality metrics.
  • Prepare and submit regular production reports to the Production Manager or Plant Manager.
  • Document any production issues, incidents, or deviations and report them as required.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, yield, capacity utilization, cycle time, waste rate, employee productivity and safety incident as well as usage data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline production processes and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and manage stock movement by applying opening/closing shift arrangements with coordination with the materials handling supervisor
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Minimize waste and manage resources effectively.
  • Ensure accurate recipe calculations based on standards.
  • Monitor recipe adherence during production to maintain product consistency and quality
  • Ensure that production equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department for routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Address any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.

Criteria

  • Candidates should possess relevant qualifications & work experience
  • Must be currently in Kano
  • Must be present for a physical interview
  • Must have prior experience as Production Supervisor or Shift Supervisor
  • Must be familiar with Lean Manufacturing, SixSIGMA, OEE and production tools

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 Monthly.
