International Centre for Advocacy on Right to Health (ICARH) is a Non-Government Organization, Non-Profit organisation committed to improving Human Rights and reduce the impact of sexually transmitted infections amongst vulnerable persons, and the Most at Risk Populations (MARPS) in Nigeria through research, education, training, advocacy, health care services and to advocate for human rights of sexual and gender minorities. We are recruiting to fill the position below:     Job Title: Executive Director Location: Abuja Job Description The Executive Director who is directly responsible to the Board of Trustees shall perform the following:

  • Identify, assess, and inform the Board of Trustees of internal and external issues that affect the organization
  • Act as a professional advisor to the Board of Trustees on all aspects of the organization's activities
  • Work with the Board to secure adequate funding for the operation of the organization
  • Research funding sources, oversee the development of fund raising plans and write funding proposals to increase the funds of the organization
  • Initiate and Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate
  • Foster effective team work between the Board and the Executive Director and between the Executive Director and staff
  • Ensure that the programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization's mission and reflect the priorities of the Board of Trustees
  • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization
  • Oversee the implementation of the human resources policies, procedures and practices including the development of job description for all staff
  • Work with the Board to secure adequate funding for the operation of the organization
  • Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization's people (clients, staff, management, volunteers), property, finances, goodwill, image and implement measures to control risks
  • In addition to being the Secretary of the Board, the Executive Director acts as a spokesperson for the organization
  • Conduct official correspondence on behalf of the Board of Trustees as appropriate and jointly with the Board of Trustees when appropriate
  • Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the organization's community profile.

  • Background in non-profits, NGOs, Social enterprise

  • Excellent writing and reporting skills
  • Solid and proven project management and planning skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated commitment to community service, advocacy and project planning and management
  • Knowledge in Public Health and or Law is added advantage.
    Job Title: Human Right Officer Location: Abuja Job Type: Full Time Job Description
  • The Human Rights Officer will Head the Human Rights Unit and will advise the management in the development and implementation of Human Rights Strategies and programs
Responsibilities
  • Ensure Program development and implementation
  • Assist in budget planning and Implementation
  • Ensure Proper documentation and report of human right cases and activities
  • Conduct research into global human right issues
  • Support the management to mobilize resources for the human right unit
  • Develop strategies for the human rights unit to support rights of minority groups
  • Develop a reporting mechanism for human rights activities and violations
  • Support growth and development of the human rights with key stakeholders in the area human right
  • Ensure global networking and collaboration in the space of human right
  • Collaborate with Strategic Knowledge Manager unit to ensure robust review of projects that looks at both the thematic and geographic distribution of our resources and support cross-program learning about human rights
Requirements
  • Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Desired Qualification: LL.B, LL.M
  • Experience 3 years to 5 years
