Job Title: Senior Technical Procurement Officer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Reports to: Manager, Engineering Procurement & Logistics
Department: Engineering and maintenance

Role Description

  • Responsible for a quick response to AOG (Aircraft on Ground) and imminent AOG requests within Air Peace's Technical Department in the most effective way.
  • Serving customer requests to ensure smooth operations and acting as the interface between APL, customers and business Partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure the smooth running of operations on a 24/7 basis with a quick material/service support to operations.
  • Process, coordinate and document all customer requirements right up to availability of materials at the point of need and pass information to the affected departments.
  • Handle any queries related to operational demand at APL and external firm as a contact person at AOGDesk.
  • Carry out and document material procurement measures, demand fulfilment, purchase, loan, acceleration and stock transfer.
  • Keep track records of each requirement, build demand fulfilment process and update status.
  • Immediate reaction and organization of material support for AOG (Aircraft on Ground) and imminent AOG requirements.
  • Handling AdHoc lean & exchange requests from airlines all around the globe.
  • Handle loan in/loan out orders and track status up until closure.
  • Review and negotiate on purchase/repair/exchange/loan cost estimates before getting approval.
  • Communicate with internal/external customers on order status, limitation, and any delivery proactively.
  • Follow up orders and track shipment for delivery at mainbase or out station.
  • Responsible for subareas of material management support as well
  • Perform special tasks, handle projects with fill responsibility
  • Ensure compliance with Air peace and Regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to the company safety, health, and environmental policy.
  • Expedite orders in coordination with vendors, logistics, freight forwarders and clearing agents.
  • Perform all functions related to buying and repair of materials daily including sourcing, generating purchase, exchange, repair and loan orders.
  • Determine most appropriate logistical need to transport parts for AOG aircraft, including courier, charter, or standard shipping methods.
  • Establish strong and collaborative relationships with MCC, Line Maintenance, CAMO, Procurement and logistics.
  • Coordinate with MCC (maintenance control centre) to make certain that all materials arrive in anticipation of changes in planned maintenance.
  • Undertaking such other duties as may be reasonably requested by Manager and Head of Supply Chain

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain / Business Management / Engineering
  • At least 7 years of experiences within in Airline/MRO Technical Procurement and Supply Chain departments of a large organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of airline supply chain management and related aviation regulations.
  • Experience in materials management, purchasing, technical customer service, technical documentation or aircraft maintenance is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and MRO system.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Specialist knowledge of Industrial Safety Standards.
  • Human factors application.
  • High degree of customer orientation.
  • Strong experience working in Technical Supply Chain Environment and will have a proven track record of working in teams and familiar with lean principles.
  • Independent and systematic work with changing requirements.
