  • Meeting with suppliers, distributors and analysts
  • Managing budgets
  • Predicting sales and profits
  • Supervising and training station staff
  • Managing levels and distribution of stock
  • Proposing stock promotions/price reductions as appropriate
  • Assessing sales performance of different ranges Partners management at the field level
Activities General:
  • Under the authority of the SFS Manager and in conjunction with the Network sales teams, particularly the Category Managers RSM's and the RSE’s, he optimizes sales and margins for each shop, wash, food concept, lubebay, seeing to observance of the SFS head office policy and standards.
  • To ensure that dealers comply with the HSEQ rules and regulations (HACCP, Certifications…)
  • To ensure the implementation and compliance with the SFS policy defined by the HQ through checklists (shop, food, carwash, bays…)
  • To analyze the competition area so as to be able to locally optimize the SFS offerings (range, pricing, policies to recommend, promotions etc.)
  • To propose sites with potential for space rentals and possible businesses to deploy
  • To call the attention of the concerned Category Manager when agreed terms with partnering firms are not being complied with by either parties
  • Handles merchandizing of all shops within the network in conformity with the acceptable norm
  • Consolidate on a monthly basis, the NFR report within your sales area and send to Head Office; analyze the costs and propose for corrective action.
  • To harmonize the layout of the shops to meet the customer needs and the standards
  • To work in close relation with the field team for any shop overhaul, upgrade, construction…
  • To report to the head office all innovations and initiatives seen on-site
  • To follow-up on SFS sales within his perimeter of stations
  • To ensure reliability in the SIS
  • To analyze the categories results and to optimize the linear profitability
  • To forward information concerning any anomalies to the field team / Retail SFS Manager and to propose / implement remedial actions
  • To ensure that the annual promotional plan is respected on each site
Context and Environment:
  • As a field position, the merchandiser is spending 80% of their time in station.Each will be in charge of about 140 dealer managed shops portfolio.
  • Advisory work without any hierarchical role vis-à-vis interlocutors to be convinced (Managers, RSE’s).
Accountabilities:
  • Improve retail network profitability : Non-fuel sales, margins and SFS revenue (fees)
  • Make sure of implementation of the SFS sales policy
Qualifications/Experience
  • A good first degree
  • Good experience with FMCG background
  • Good knowledge of sales reporting, shop optimization tools, knowledge of software: Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Communication, Analytical skills and ability to see the overall picture, teamwork, rigor, autonomy, feeling for organization, training skills
  • Must have completed NYSC
  • The merchandiser must be a specialist in retail, he/she should have a good knowledge of the market and the competition.
  • Good knowledge of the Network or experience in distribution
