Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

We are seeking a proficient Quantity Surveyor with site/construction experience to join our team.
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for accurately estimating quantities, building up construction rates, and managing site-related activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic construction environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate bills of quantities for construction projects.
Build up construction rates based on materials, labor, and equipment costs.
Take measurements and quantities to ensure accurate cost estimation.
Manage inventory and maintain store records for construction materials.
Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects.
Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive prices.
Prepare and analyze cost reports and forecasts.
Manage and track project expenditures to ensure they stay within budget.
Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
Provide construction management support, including site work sequence and schedule.
Maintain detailed records of project activities, including progress reports and financial documents.
Supervise workmen to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Monitor and analyze labor and material rates to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring costs throughout the construction process.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
A Master's degree and related certifications will be an added advantage.
Professional certification in quantity surveying or cost management.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
