Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Abuja

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a proficient Quantity Surveyor with site/construction experience to join our team.
  • The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for accurately estimating quantities, building up construction rates, and managing site-related activities.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate bills of quantities for construction projects.
  • Build up construction rates based on materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Take measurements and quantities to ensure accurate cost estimation.
  • Manage inventory and maintain store records for construction materials.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive prices.
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports and forecasts.
  • Manage and track project expenditures to ensure they stay within budget.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Provide construction management support, including site work sequence and schedule.
  • Maintain detailed records of project activities, including progress reports and financial documents.
  • Supervise workmen to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyze labor and material rates to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring costs throughout the construction process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
  • A Master's degree and related certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certification in quantity surveying or cost management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary
N145,000 - N175,000 / month.
