Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary
- We are seeking a proficient Quantity Surveyor with site/construction experience to join our team.
- The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for accurately estimating quantities, building up construction rates, and managing site-related activities.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate bills of quantities for construction projects.
- Build up construction rates based on materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Take measurements and quantities to ensure accurate cost estimation.
- Manage inventory and maintain store records for construction materials.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive prices.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports and forecasts.
- Manage and track project expenditures to ensure they stay within budget.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Provide construction management support, including site work sequence and schedule.
- Maintain detailed records of project activities, including progress reports and financial documents.
- Supervise workmen to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor and analyze labor and material rates to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, monitoring costs throughout the construction process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
- A Master's degree and related certifications will be an added advantage.
- Professional certification in quantity surveying or cost management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Salary
N145,000 - N175,000 / month.
