Community Engagement & Social Development Initiative (CESDI) is a non-governmental organization committed to the sustainable livelihood of under privileged women, children and youth. CESDI is duly registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) since 2014. The Organization is involved in community development, capacity building, economic empowerment, social counseling, social mobilization, raising awareness/ education on health and conflict resolution/peace building initiatives.

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Officer to manage the purchasing and sourcing of goods and services for the Community Engagement and Social Development Initiative (CESDI).
  • The successful candidate will ensure that the organization obtains quality products and services at competitive prices, adheres to procurement policies, and maintains strong supplier relationship

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best terms.
  • Purchasing: Source, negotiate, and procure goods and services according to company requirements and policies.
  • Cost Optimization: Ensure cost-effective purchasing and delivery of quality products within budgetary guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels by coordinating stock levels and supplier orders.
  • Compliance: Ensure that procurement activities adhere to legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present procurement reports, including cost analysis and supplier performance metrics.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related role.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with contract management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
