Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Planning: Collaborate with business leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, and talent requirements. Develop and execute HR strategies, initiatives, and programs that support business goals, including workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and organizational development.
- Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures. Investigate and resolve employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a timely and objective manner.
- Talent Acquisition and Management: Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs, develop job descriptions, and participate in the recruitment and selection process. Support the onboarding process for new hires and facilitate talent development initiatives such as training, performance management, and career development.
- Change Management: Support the organization through periods of change by facilitating communication, providing change management tools and techniques, and assisting in the implementation of change initiatives. Help employees and managers navigate transitions effectively.
- Compliance and Policy Development: Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with relevant employment laws and regulations. Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- HR Analytics and Reporting: Utilize HR data and analytics to provide insights and recommendations to business leaders. Generate HR reports on key metrics such as turnover, headcount, and employee engagement, and use the data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Performance Management: Assist in the implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans. Coach managers on effective performance feedback and support the identification of high-potential employees.
- Compensation and Benefits: Collaborate with the HR team to design and implement competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs. Provide guidance to managers and employees on compensation matters, including salary benchmarking, promotions, and rewards recognition.
Requirements
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HRBP and must have worked in a unionized environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a strategic mindset.
- Experience in managing employee relations issues and conducting investigations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR-related tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate.
