Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organization. Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs.
Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. The association leads in average 140 projects by year in the following sectors of intervention: food security, health, nutrition, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures, water, sanitation, hygiene and economic recovery. PUI is providing assistance to around 4 million people in 22 countries - in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Caucasus and Europe.

Job Title: Field Coordinator

Our Action In The Field
The results of the assessment led PUI to position in host communities hosting IDPS of Maiduguri city.
In the beginning, the strategy will be focused on:

  • Improving food security of the vulnerable population affected by the crisis via e-voucher/gardening / IGA
  • Improving access to water, sanitation and hygiene via rehabilitation and construction of boreholes, wells and latrines and access to hygiene and shelter Non Food Items (via e voucher)
  • During the course of February a health and mental health assessment will be realized in order to complete our analysis and to be able to set a referral system up for malnutrition cases and psychosocial in Maiduguri (Borno State).
  • As part of our activities in Nigeria, we are looking for a Field Coordinator in Maiduguri.
Responsibilities
  • The Field Coordinator is responsible for the proper functioning of the project site, and the proper implementation of programs developed on that site.
  • Safety:
    • He/She is responsible of the safety of the site.
  • Programs:
    • He/She coordinates the teams, and ensures proper implementation of programs on the site, under the supervision of his/her immediate supervisor.
  • Human Resources:
    • He/She supervises all of the teams on the site, as well as national and international staff.
  • Logistical, Administrative and Financial Support:
    • He/She oversees the logistical, administrative and financial components at the site for the purpose of program implementation, and ensures compliance with the relevant procedures, with substantive support from the Logistics Coordinator (LOGC), and the Administrative and Financial Coordinator (AFC) of the mission.
  • Representation:
    • He/She represents the organization before the partners, authorities, and various local actors operating in the area where his/her base is located.
  • Coordination:
    • He/She centralizes and disseminates information from/to the site, and consolidates the internal and external reporting activities implemented in his/her field of operations before submitting them to the immediate supervisor.
  • Assessment/ Strategy:
    • He/She participates to strategy development and proposes new interventions in function of needs identified in his/her field of operations.

Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Job Responsibilities
As part of our activities in Nigeria, we are looking for a Logistics Coordinator in Abuja:
  • The logistics coordinator is responsible for the smooth functioning of logistics on the mission. He/She makes sure the resources which are necessary for carrying out the programmes are available and actively participates in the mission's safety management.
  • Safety: He/She assists the Head of Mission with safety management. He/She is directly responsible of the daily, concrete aspects of the mission's safety management.
  • Supplies: He/She coordinates supplies and deliveries for projects and for the bases. He/She guarantees that PUI's procedures and logistical tools are in place and are respected.
  • Fixed equipment: He/She is responsible of the management of computer equipment, tele/radiocommunication equipment and for the mission's energy supply.
  • Car park: He/She is responsible of the management of the car park (availability, safety, maintenance etc), for the smooth functioning of the mission and the realization of activities in accordance with the available budget.
  • Functioning of the bases: He/She supports the teams in case of redeployment/installation/rehabilitation/ closing of bases.
  • Representation: He/She represents the organization amongst partners, authorities and different local actors involved in the logistics and the safety of the mission.

As part of our activities in Nigeria, we are looking for a Head Of Mission:

  • The Head of Mission is responsible for the smooth opening, functioning and development of the mission.
  • Safety & Security: S/he is responsible for the safety & security of the mission.
  • Programmes: S/he coordinates the teams and ensures that the programmes implemented on the mission are properly carried out. S/he also monitors needs and suggests new operations and development tracks for the mission.
  • Human Resources: S/he ensures that the mission is adequately staffed and supervises the teams (defining objectives, follow-up).
  • Logistical, administrative and financial monitoring: S/he ensures that logistical and administrative practices in place respect PUI procedures and formats and are in compliance with donors’ rules and regulations
  • Technical monitoring: S/he ensures that medical and technical practices respect PUI’s procedures and formats and are in compliance with PUI’s operational framework and policy.
  • Representation: S/he represents the association in its relations with partners, donors,the media and different authorities.
