Job Title: Technology Transfer Officer

About the Project
- The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is implementing the CASSAVATAAT Compact, financed through a grant from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) Program and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this grant to facilitate payments under the contracts for the following individual consultants.
Job Descriptions
- The Consultant is expected to assist the Cassava Compact Leader in preparing agreements with service providers and other partners detailing the targets, timeline, material and human resources required by each actor and how to source these;
- Collaborate with public agricultural research and extension institutions, development partners, NGOs and other innovation service providers to implement services that can bolster the success of cassava transformation;
- Assisting the Cassava Compact Leader in organizing country-level training courses;
- Participate in the writing project proposals for food technology outreach campaigns at country-level and ensure agreed actions are implemented towards technology transfer by partner organizations and the private sector.
Job Requirements
- The desired consultant is expected to possess a post graduate degree in Agricultural Extension, Business Administration, Food Technology, Entrepreneurship Development, Agricultural Economics or a closely related field with at least five (5) years of work experience in smallholder agri-business management, technology dissemination or scaling.
- Proficiency in French language and working knowledge of English languages is compulsory;
- Excellent knowledge of agribusiness development models, and training of agriculture entrepreneurs on business and financial management, including budgeting, feasibility assessment and marketing.

Job Description
- The consultant is expected to assist the Project Manager in ensuring that activities are completed on time, within budget and meet quality standards;
- Establish and maintain project management information system;
- Develop, coordinate and implement a detailed communication strategy for the Project;
- Assist the Cassava Compact Leader in technical and financial reporting to the TAAT PMU by collating reports from partners in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
- The desired consultant is expected to possess a Master's degree in the Social Sciences or Humanities with minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in similar roles.

Job Description
- The consultant is expected to present technology toolkits to stakeholders; promote investment and identify business opportunities; monitor Cassava product flow within the value chain; conduct business development training.
Job Requirements
- The desired consultant is expected to possess at least a Masters' degree or equivalent in Business Management, Agribusiness or related field in Enterprise Management or Financing with a minimum of five (5) years’ business development experience or in similar role either in a credit and finance institution, agroindustry, or business entity.
- Experience in especially working with small agribusiness entities, smallholder farmers or processors, or small to medium enterprises.
- Good knowledge of financial analysis, business cycle in agriculture, accounting, and profitability ratios is a major requirement.
- Good knowledge of computer as well as the relevant business and financial management software is required.
