Job Title: Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment type: Full Time

Principal Accountabilities

  • Accurately interprete client needs for development of designs and scoping of projects.
  • Develop engineering designs in line with international Codes & Standards / Regulatory Guidelines.
  • Takes leading role in all detailed design and FEED studies
  • Liaison with client discipline representatives to establish technical direction where not provided by codes and standards.
  • Provide scope definition, estimation and progress control of all discipline engineering activities
  • Planning of man hour budgets, schedules, manpower loadings and staffing requirements by skill and experience, to satisfy project requirements and direction given by the Engineering Manager.
  • Develop sizing information for equipment (compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, separators, reactors, etc.) and provide information in the form of equipment data sheets
  • Provide technical expertise to the project execution team
  • Support the Account Manager (when requested) in discussion of technical details with the Business Development team and/or client.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Quality Management System for continuous improvement and satisfaction of applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Liaison with other discipline Lead Engineers on technical issues and engineering matters
  • Assist asset/client Lead Project Engineers in the definition of engineering outputs and timely production of deliverables.
  • Co-ordination and preparation of input to essential multidiscipline documents as defined by client / contract.
  • Develop procedures / work instructions for the discipline.
  • Mentor less experienced Engineers, ensuring they acquire the required learning and exposure
  • Provide required information throughout the lifecycle of a project, from proposal through implementation.

Requisite Qualification And Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering discipline, membership of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or COREN is essential.
  • Must have at least 7 years work experience in a similar function. Must have up to 3 years’ experience leading other engineers.
