  • Responsible for onsite operations activities at night or when the Senior Drilling Supervisor is not available. Carries out similar jobs to the Drilling Supervisor when on duty but reports to the Senior Drilling Supervisor and carries out assigned tasks as may be instructed by the Senior Drilling Supervisor.

  • Responsible for onsite supervision of well operations.
  • Protect the company interests on the rig
  • Supervise the day to day drilling / workover / testing / completion operations in accordance with the program.
  • Supervise the service contractors working for the company
  • Plan ahead to determine future requirements for drilling equipment and consumables
  • Liaise with the logistics base to communicate future supply / back-load requirements.
  • Report progress made on a regular basis with the Drilling Superintendent
  • Prepare and provide drilling, rig and well data for the Main office.
  • Discuss program changes with the Drilling Superintendent
  • Liaise with other departments (e.g. Production) to discuss and schedule concurrent operations.
  • Check and sign job tickets (not invoices) from service contractors.
Responsible for:
  • Meeting HSE targets
  • Timely delivery of wells meeting the programme’s objectives.
  • Optimised usage of tools, equipment and services.
Accountable for:
  • Operational success of all operations on the rig; drilling, testing, completion, tree running, workover, rig moves etc.
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted in compliance with all regulations and HSE standards
  • Ensure drilling operations are conducted in the most cost effective manner
  • Ensure all contractors perform in accordance with the relevant contract
  • Ensure all materials and services are ordered timely
  • Ensure all materials received are of the correct specification (QAQC).

    Job Title: Drilling Fluids/Waste Management Supervisor Req ID: Req-1153 Location: Nigeria Description
  • Oversee Drilling Fluids Engineering and Management at the Rigsite and provide onsite technical support for Contractor Drilling Fluids Engineers
  • Coordinate, direct and supervise all aspects of the disposal of wastes generated in the drilling operations in full compliance with regulatory requirements and statutory guidelines, from cradle to grave.
Duties
  • Provides as required technical support to supplement experience of Contractors Drilling Fluids Engineers
  • Works with the Mud Contractor and drilling Fluids Superintendent to deliver enhanced quality service. and to ensure the program meets the objectives of delivering the well without NPT
  • Proactively ensure well operations fluids meet technical and operational requirements of the drilling and mud programme and are cost effective
  • Ensure quality and consistency of work and reporting of all drilling fluids related contractors at the rig-site
  • Monitor drilling and completion activities and provide technical advice as required to keep the mud in the best state to perform its role in the well
  • Monitor utilization of drilling fluids chemicals to ensure there is no wastage and products are being used in a preventative manner to preclude well problems
  • Manage drilling fluids chemical cost and ensure all fluid related KPI’s are met
  • Monitor the mud contract and ensure the mud contractor is providing the full scope of services in the contract
  • Ensure fluids chemicals logistics planning and management at rig-site are properly managed
  • Examine and analyse mud vendor recaps. Ensure the mud reports provide all the information needed for future reviews as well as information needed by well cost accountant to corroborate the invoices submitted by the vendor.

    Job Title: Completions Supervisor Req ID: Req-1450 Location: Rig Responsibilities
  • Review completion programs to ensure understanding and where possible optimize same.
  • Participate in planning meetings, CWOP’s, AAR’s etc.
  • Review completion programs to ensure risks are mitigated and lessons learnt has been properly captured as it affects the program.
  • Visit contractor facilities to ensure:
  • Equipment is properly inspected and certified.
  • Equipment is as defined in the completion program.
  • Running tools have been correctly assembled into the equipment.
