The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, seeks suitable Nigerian for the position below at the Institute’s headquarters in Ibadan:   Job Title: Driver/Field Assistant Ref:IITA-HR-NRS2017-0032A Location: Ibadan Recruitment Type: National (1 year renewable contract) Responsibilities Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

  • Drive project Vehicle to convey authorized personnel;
  • Ensure project vehicle complies with the minimum operating security standard (MOSS) as well as up to date vehicle document all the time;
  • Participate in day to day maintenance of STMA project vehicle;
  • Participate in collecting and delivering mail, documents and other items to project collaborators;
  • Participate in general field activities;
  • Perform any other duties as properly assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • O'Level with Minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing same role.
Competencies The ideal candidate must:
  • Have good communication skill.
  • Ability to speak more than one Nigeria language is an added advantage.

  • Participate in the management of the server room and all hardware equipment there-in;
  • Participate in the management, administration and maintenance of servers machine, network devices, PCs and the entire ICT infrastructure which includes the operating systems (Windows, Linux, Macintosh etc.) hardware (HP, IBM, Dell, Ubiquiti etc.);
  • Install, configure, maintain multiple server, workstation, desktop and notebooks;
  • Ensure proper integration with other systems on the network;
  • Manage and monitor and tunes system (e.g client’s PCs, server and network devices) to achieve optimum performance levels;
  • Carry out the implementation of system security procedure to include server and system firewalls, host and client access, file permission and user accounts;
  • Carry out implement of the review policies and procedure for systems/network usage internet and datacenter services;
  • Perform software installation and upgrades to operating and layered software applications;
  • Troubleshooting and managing call/ticket from the service helpdesk group and assist with systems support and administration 1st, 2nd and 3rd level to all users in the institute (both remote and on-site);
  • Manage, maintain and ensure that all ICT related systems e.g digital signage systems are up and running;
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • B.Sc/HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Management Information System, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or other related field with minimum of Five (5) years’ experience performing same role.

    Job Title: Communication Technician II Ref: IITA-HR-NRS2017-0031 Location: Ibadan Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract) Responsibilities Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
  • In consultation with the IITA Communications office; implement communication strategies and campaigns to support AfricaYam project activities.
  • Support the information dissemination and awareness creation through the Yam Community of Practice (YCoP) activity of the project.
  • Capture and write up stories about AfricaYam work for a diverse range of stakeholders and publish them on social media platforms as well as other formats including video, radio, stills, website and print publications.
  • Carryout purchase requisitions through Supply chain unit, ensure efficient travel logistics for project staff and provide support for routine office activities
  • Manage the project’s social media channels, uploading information and materials;
  • Perform any other duties as properly assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
  • OND in Communications, Journalism, Media relations or related Degree in Social Science with Minimum two (2) years’ experience in print or digital media house preferably in an international organization
Competencies The ideal candidate must:
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skill (Fluency in French will be an added advantage)
