We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Location: Ondo
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose

  • The prospective candidate will work with our other team members in monitoring the implementation of the Rainforest Alliance (RA) Certification Programme as well as clients required KPIs as requested by our clients and ensure that correct data is collected and handled using GIS/GPS data collection and analysis.

Role and Responsibilities

  • GPS Mapping and Validation - Track mapping progress for all groups and partners, regular update of farmers/farms information in the attribute table. Training of staff/partners on correction of overlaps and intersections of polygons, validate polygon for all groups, resolving overlaps and intersects. Prepare training manual/guideline for mapping, then regularly update and report mapping progress using GPS mapping tracker and follow up on GPS mapping activities for all groups and partners.
  • Premium Oversee - Follow up on premium payment for all group, support during premium payment ceremony. Train enumerators on digital premium payment, monitor premium payment survey and give report.
  • Coordinate documentation of cocoa project traceability - Support traceability check for all sourced volume. Support tracking shipment document of all sourced volume, update client analysis report traceability data using power query.
  • Digital data collections/surveys/Database Management - Plan/support training on the use of mergdata (web and mobile app.) for all groups and partners. Attend to technical issues arising with the use of MergData (web and mobile app.), coordinate/support survey field trial exercise. Create new user accounts, perform access restrictions and permissions of users to groups/communities, regularly monitor survey responses on MergData web platform.
  • Monitor project KPIs - Regular visit to project locations to monitor unit activities and writing reports. Develop and update KPIs tracker for monitoring the implementation of projects, follow up with team members and partners on update on volume sourced using sourcing reporting template. Make plan for field visit, prepare and update KPIs overview for all groups including partners and collate KPIs data for reporting.

Qualification

  • B.Sc Degree or Higher Diploma in Agric Economics or Project Management only.
  • Position will be based in Akure with frequent field trips to project areas.
  • Eye for detail and accuracy.
  • A well-motivated and proactive person.
  • At least 2 years hands-on experience in data management.
  • Knowledge of RA Certification is an added advantage.

  • Basic knowledge and skills in general agriculture especially cocoa farm. Management/Agroforestry is an advantage.
  • Ability to present information in overview-style.
  • Fast learner and willing to learn new tools.
  • Independent, capacity to work with little supervision as well as in a team.
  • Ability to work productively and under pressure.
