Job Title: Safety Controller
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Description
- Opportunities exist for highly skilled and result driven Safety Controller in our Plant located in South-South Nigeria.
- The successful incumbent is to provide support to operational and line management to ensure the functioning of a comprehensive and professional Occupational Health and Safety System.
- Ensuring compliance to Safety systems, standards and work practices to achieve targets set for the VPO Safety Pillar and Safety KPI’s.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Amongst other duties, the Safety Controller will;
- Ensure compliance to the applicable Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Ensure safe workplace, drive and support safe work practices in the plant.
- Monitor and advice on Safety VPO Pillar performance in the plant.
- Ensure workplace hazards are identified and communicated to all staff.
- Support and facilitate safety improvement interventions across the plant.
- Promote awareness of occupational safety and the VPO Safety programme.
- Conduct audits and reviews related to the VPO Safety Pillar and legal compliance.
- Conduct investigations into incidents together with line managers identifying root cause and proposing both corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain documentation such as SOP’s, policies and procedures as related to safety.
- Identify safety and legal training needs and conduct training where required.
- Ensure induction of both employees and contractors take place in accordance with standards.
- Drive closure of investigations, safety gaps and legal compliance in the plant.
- Assist in the investigation selected insurance claims in the plant.
- Ensure the site is adequately secured and the contracted security provider complies with standards.
Profile
The occupant of this position should possess:
- Min of B.Sc. / B.Tech / HND in a related field - Safety Management
- 2-3 years’ experience in a Brewery with exposure to WCM, Safety and Engineering fields
- Experience in working in an industrial or FMCG environment essential
- NEBOSH will be an added advantage.
- Ideal candidate would have experience in working with the NOSA integrated system.
- Knowledge of industrial safety rules and regulations
- Technical skills to identify safety and operational non- compliance.
- Ability to conduct investigations into safety incidents, identifying root causes and developing preventative and corrective actions [Incident Investigator].
- Ability to coaching and training teams
- Good presentation, report drafting, and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work across the levels in the plant.
Job Title: Micro & Food Safety Specialist
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Details
- Opportunity exists for highly skilled and result driven Micro & Food Safety Specialist in our Plant located in South-South Nigeria.
- The Quality Specialists will ensure the continuous improvement of process and product quality.
- Manage brewery Food Safety standards and specifications, ensure implementation of optimal brewery wide microbiological standards and work practices to ensure compliance to microbiological processes, food safety standards and product specifications.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Amongst other duties, the job holder will:
- Implement safety, health/environmental procedures and legislation
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards Communicate Process and Product Quality Information
- Improve quality compliance and management on site and reduce reputational risks for the site
- Provide Leadership to Ensure Commitment to Product Quality
- Optimise Availability of Measuring Equipment and Test Samples

Profile
The occupant of this position should possess:
- Minimum of B.Sc. or HND in Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, or other Science related disciplines.
- 2-4 years hands-on experience in similar role in a reputable organisation, preferably in an FMCG environment.
- A high degree of commercial acumen, as well as supervisory, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of the principles and practices of Manufacturing Excellence
- Computer literacy is an advantage
- Good Communication and interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure Assertive and analytical
- Acts with integrity with keen eye for detail and a result-driven approach
- In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards

Job Title: Machine Specialist, Energy and Fluids
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria
Job Description
- Opportunities exist for highly skilled and result driven Machine Specialist – Energy & Fluids in Portharcourt Plant.
- The successful incumbent will maintain, repair and optimise plant and associated devices to ensure machine availability and product quality at minimum cost whilst maintaining standards.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Amongst other duties, the Machine Specialist-Energy& Fluids will;
- Provide specialized technical support and enhance machines, system and process capabilities.
- Ensure good maintenance practices are applied during maintenance days.
- Assess proper functioning of equipment and request for repair or replacement in case of need.
- Assess nature of repair on equipment depending on nature of defect as quick fix, replacement or major overhaul.
- Coach artisans, apprentices and line team members in good maintenance practice.
- Maintain, repair and optimize machines and associated devices.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
Profile
The occupant of this position should possess:
- Minimum of HND / B.Eng or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- 2-4 years s experience as an Electrical/Mechanical Artisan or Technician, preferably in a Utilities or process environment.
- Previous experience as either a Process Artisan or Maintenance Artisan is an added advantage
- Good understanding of modern maintenance practices and maintenance system
- Systemic and Analytical problem-solver
- Good knowledge of FCMG production processes and technologies

Job Title: Laboratory Technician - Analytical
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Summary
- An opportunity exists for a highly skilled and result driven Laboratory Technician-Analytical in our Plant located in South-South Nigeria
- The successful incumbent would carry out sampling, sample preparation and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples and packaged product.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Amongst other duties, the Laboratory Technician-Analytical will:
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Prepare samples and conduct sample analyses
- Request for chemicals /reagents and other working tools from Specialists
- Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated according to manualised methods.
- Carry out specialised and highly specialised quality analyses for which the shift-based teams are not responsible.
- Record the results of analyses on appropriate information systems and communicate results where required.
- Conduct analysis of results to identify problems and improvement opportunities timeously.
- Assist the shift-based teams in the execution of quality analysis, where required.
- Conduct calibration of specialist equipment for which the labs are responsible and provide calibration assistance to
Profile
The occupant of this position should possess:
- Minimum of a B.Sc / HND in Biological Sciences / Microbiology or related field
- 1-2 years experience as a Laboratory Technician
- Good knowledge of micro laboratory systems, processes and analyses
- Experience in the application of problem-solving techniques and statistics.
- Good understanding of HACCP, GMP standards and CIP requirements PC literacy Good all-round knowledge of AB InBev manufacturing processes and philosophies
