Job Title: Counsel - Corporate Commercial
Location: Lagos
Job Description
- Provide legal representation to a corporation or business and its employees.
- Advise businesses and their employees on a variety of legal matters.
- Negotiate, write and execute agreements and contracts on behalf of the company.
- Advise on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals.
- Research and anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company.
- Review advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements.
- Represent the company in court, in the case of a lawsuit or other legal proceedings
- Settlement negotiations and witnesses deposition.
- Provide training companies on legal topics.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of Law firm experience with an emphasis/focus on Corporate Cousel.
- Currently admitted in good standing to practice law in Nigeria.
- Education must include WAEC, BL, Called to The Nigerian Bar, NYSC, and LLM.
- Professional Certifications are added advantage.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills
- High degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment
- Complete comprehension of Corporate Law process.

Job Description
- We are looking to recruit lawyers practising in Litigation or Transanctional (Corporate Commercial).
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage product liability litigation caseload and other cases of company-wide significance
- Develop and execute litigation strategy, manage discovery obligations, manage outside counsel, determine proper case disposition, and monitor litigation budgets expenses.
- Evaluate and manage pre-litigation disputes.
- Advise business units concerning various matters, including product warnings, product use instructions, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead or participate in significant internal investigations.
Requirements
- Strong organizational and project-management skills
- High degree of professionalism, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment
- Complete comprehension of litigation process from start to finish, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, experts, and trials.
- Minimum of 10 years of law firm experience with an emphasis/focus on complex litigation (at least some product liability litigation experience required).
- Currently admitted in good standing to practice law in Nigeria.
- Education must include WAEC, BL, Called to The Nigerian Bar, NYSC, and LLM.
- Professional Certifications are added advantage.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
