Job Purpose
- The purpose of the Enterprise backup & E-mail administrator is to manage daily backup of the company data, data center tasks/activities and E-mail Administration
- Enterprise Backup & E-mail Administrator will also assist Enterprise Systems Support Engineer in providing first level support of IT Systems.
Key Responsibilities
Backup Administration: Ensure that backups of Critical Applications, databases and Operating Systems are taken:
- Reports backup, server, and storage operational status by gathering and prioritizing information.
- Carry out daily backup and restore activities
- Configure, install, and manage data backups for applications and systems
- Manage tapes storage and movement (location and use)
- Ensure that restore procedures are configured and tested
- Periodically reviews the backup policies and procedures to ensure right application settings and accurate documentations.
- Performs daily health check and maintains desired level of success rate for the backup jobs.
- Maintains daily records of all the backup activities including problem documentation and actions taken to resolve it.
- Ensure excellent Customer Service throughout the Storage and Backup Operation
- Perform routine tasks on tapes registration, movement, storage and disposal.
- Ensure tape handling and management is as per control process and procedure documented.
- Follow strictly all requirements of the daily tape handling activities.
Server and Storage Administration:
- Carry out regular checks on the status of servers, Netapp storage, and tape libraries from a hardware and software standpoint.
- Implement templates for standardizing all technical backup and recovery procedures for all sites
- Upgrades backup infrastructure and improve the backup and recovery performance using latest applicable techniques
- Regular maintenance of servers, backup software, and storage tools through the installation of software upgrades, patches, and hardware upgrades
IT Support / Helpdesk:
- Proactively keeps the environment with latest release update and perform root-cause analysis to resolve frequent backup failures.
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install and perform testing activities on various computer equipment, peripheral, data communication and computer network system.
- Ensure proper reports distribution.
- Provide first level support of IT Systems (servers, Operations systems, Applications, etc)
- Supervise Service Providers while they are working in the data center.
- Manage E-mail platform for the Wealth Group and resolve all issues in a timely manner.
Data Center Administration:
- Monitor Datacenter environmental conditions and ensure they are within set limits.
- Adhere to Data Centre rules and guidelines
- Ensure tidiness and proper cable management in the Data Centre.
- Uptime and availability of Data Center devices, Servers and Network devices
- Ensure proper maintenance of the Air Conditioning and FM 200 in the Data center and power room.
- Ensure proper maintenance of the Central UPS and Stabilizer for the Data centers
- Ensure that data centre physical security procedures are followed strictly
- Fulfill administrative reporting requirements.
Messaging and Collaboration:
- Manage E-mail platform for the Wealth Group and resolve all issues in a timely manner.
- Manage Active Directory platform and treat all user creation and exits promptly.
Preferred Qualification and Experience
Qualifications:
- First Degree Field of Study – Systems Engineering
- Master's Degree Field of Study – Operations Research
- MCTS (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012), MCITP (Microsoft Windows Server 2008), MCTS (Microsoft Windows Active Directory 2008)
Experience:
- Up to 5 years Email Administration and Server Administration
- Up to 2 Years Data Centre Administration
- Ability to provide optimal IT support to departments to help facilitate meeting of the Group’s objectives
Technical Competencies:
- Server Management – Windows:- Refers to the knowledge and experience required to manage Windows servers
- IT Systems:- Knowledge and understanding of various IT systems and related configurations as applied within a specified business environment.
- IT Support:- Ability to provide optimal IT support to departments to help facilitate meeting of the Bank's objectives.
- Troubleshooting Ability:- Knowledge and understanding of IT diagostic tools including the replication of errors in test environments.
