Ofix Recruit - Our client, an Indigenous Oil and Gas company located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is recruiting currently to fill the position below:     Job Title: Cathodic Protection Technician Job Reference Code: CPTH/PH/10/18 Location: Port Harcourt Job Type: Permanent Responsibilities/Summary of Functions

  • Perform Bi-Monthly Rectifier Inspections
  • Perform Annual Surveys
  • Perform Atmospheric Inspections
  • Perform Facility Assessments
  • Utilize corrosion test equipment and instrumentation
  • Perform cathodic protection pipe to soil surveys, read rectifiers and record readings
  • Design and maintain rectifiers and ground beds
  • Test, repair and monitor shorted casings
  • Identify and mitigate AC and DC interference
  • Conduct atmospheric corrosion inspections and investigations and analyze the data
  • Provide work direction/oversight to crews performing close interval surveys and DCVG/ACVG studies. Perform remedial actions according to data results.
  • Maintain records and complete required reports for internal corrosion program and cathodic protection
  • Prepare as-built sketches and redlines existing drawings
  • Responsible for DOT compliance and audits for assets
  • Apply corrosion mitigation to underground facilities
  • Conduct soil analysis
  • Perform non-destructive testing on pipelines to determine wall thickness
  • Work with DCP Corrosion software solutions including PCS, XMAP and Maximo
  • Manage inspection activities with oil or gas clients
  • Review requirements of jobs and develop plans for implementation
  • Analyze, revise, and make recommendations for improvements to the inspection process and procedure manuals
  • Understand and abide by the procedures set by corporate procedural manuals, the Inspection Quality Manual and the project specification
  • Verify the proper use and calibration of inspection instruments as described in the Inspection Quality Manual
  • Perform hold point inspections of surface preparation and coating work in accordance with the procedures of the Inspection Quality Manual
  • Complete project documentation and record keeping in accordance with the procedures of the Inspection Quality Manual
Requirements/Qualifications
  • OND or HND diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience on oil or natural gas projects helpful
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites as needed
  • NACE CP II Certification required
  • 5 years related coatings inspection experience
