Job Description
- The HR Manager will assist with various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration.
Responsibilities
- Develop job descriptions and post job vacancies.
- Screen, interview, and hire qualified candidates for salon positions (stylists, braiders, nail techs, lash techs, etc.).
- Coordinate onboarding processes, including orientation and training for new staff.
- Ensure all employees understand the salon’s policies and standards.
- Oversee staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Enforce workplace policies (e.g., dress code, hygiene standards, customer service guidelines).
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and salon industry regulations in Nigeria.
- Handle employee contracts, NDAs, and other HR documentation.
- Maintain updated employee records (e.g., contracts, evaluations, and certifications).
- Generate monthly HR reports to monitor performance, attendance, and other metrics.
- Track KPIs related to recruitment, retention, and employee satisfaction.
- Ensure all employees deliver excellent customer service aligned with your salon’s luxury positioning.
- Provide feedback to staff to improve client interactions and salon experiences.
- Align HR strategies with the salon's overall business goals.
- Work with the accountant to manage payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Oversee staff benefits, including bonuses, commissions, and other perks.
- Address payroll-related concerns or disputes.
- Foster a positive work environment and boost team morale.
- Plan team-building activities and staff appreciation initiatives.
- Reduce employee turnover by addressing staff needs and concerns.
- Act as the point of contact for resolving staff or management disputes.
- Investigate and handle disciplinary issues fairly and professionally.
- Monitor employee attendance and maintain leave records.
- Address staff concerns and mediate conflicts professionally.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to employees.
- Identify staff training needs and arrange for professional development programs/session
- Ensure staff adheres to salon protocols, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Promote a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
- Provide insights to improve team efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
Person Specification
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in team management, preferably in a beauty, spa, or service industry.
- Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Clean, punctual, and well-dressed.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor.
- An understanding of the beauty and wellness industry’suniquedemands.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Salary
N150,000 - N180,000 / month.
